Ahhh. We just wanted a place to play and people to hang out with. So if my previous post seemed like we wanted something it wasn't implied like that. We are basically looking for someone to let us play. So if it's going to be complicated nevermind. We don't mean to upset anyone with our wanting to play.

Okay, you have to be real careful not to violate the terms of service. This is a no commerce board and in the "spirit of burning man" the users tend to jump on that pretty quick. It sounds as if you are looking for work or something. If you're just hoping to meet compatable people and that leads to playing a party we will accept that, but this board does not exist for the purpose of advertising or for drumming up business. We value being in a commerce free zone, because the chasing of the dollar is so ubiquitious in this culture. Also, we've had a rather brazen thread posted in another forum so a lot of us are on edge.

Crypto, could you PLEASE avoid using the term 'we' when you me 'me'? I don't want or need anyone to speak for me, and I have trouble imagining anyone else around here appreciating it either. Let me put it another way I know you'll understand: it's offensive.

I understand where you are coming from Universal Beat Embassy but I am sorry to say that the Burning Man Forum would rather talk shit and beat around the bush then jump out and help the people that want to contribute music. For some reason most people here think that djs are a dime a dozen and that they don't contribute enough to get an honest response. Personally I think it is a shame for burners to act this way and not support everyone who has a dream or a goal to participate. If I find any places with open tables I will let you know. I think it would be a great idea for us music heads to band together and help each of us out to get places to play. I remember my first burn and what it felt like to play at the burn for the first time. I could never forget it and I hope you have the same chance as well. Good luck in your search.

One of the reasons I don't jump in is becasue I have no resources involved with stages or amplified music or the venues you might need. Egads, I camp in Hushville after all!
