Early Arrivals Bus Saturday Night to BRC Monday from BRC

We are working on booking a coach bus from Reno to the Playa to bring in those people pre-approved for Theme Camp early arrivals Saturday August 26 at 6pm and back to Reno late Monday September 4.

Round trip cost estimated at $125 pp.

Why pay for a rental that will sit on the playa for a week.
Loads of room for supplies!

Seems kind of pricey, doesn't it? Wouldn't it cost less for a couple people to split the cost of a rental car (Enterprise or something), and bring their supplies in with them?

There's a thread on one of the other e-playa boards where someone posted that they could get a bus/shuttle to haul them and their gear for $99 each roundtrip on an 8-person minimum. Perhaps you can combine forces, or use the same operator?

You don’t need to rent a car or minivan!

2 people - rental vehicle, insurance, gas, car wash, vacuuming, hotel room is way more than $270

Arrive at BM for the Official Gate Opening

Good news… It looks like there are a lot of people who want to arrive for the 12:01 gate opening also. We are planning on adding a second bus to leave Reno on Sunday night to be there for the official opening. These are luxury buses like the ones that go to Atlantic City. I believe that they have video so that we can have Sci-fi movies playing to get you in the mood.

We are working on securing shopping excursion vans for supplies…but no concrete info as of yet.

It now looks like 2 buses from Reno to BRC and 1 bus returning.

Reno to BRC
Departs 6pm Saturday 26th
Departs 6pm Sunday 27th

BRC to Reno
6pm Monday September 4th

Round trip Includes post burn hotel room (dbl occupancy) at Circus Circus for night of September 4th

Round Trip/Hotel $135 pp

I'm not sure where you get hotel room rental in there, unless you're including a stay in a hotel room in Reno in your plans (in which case $125 isn't too bad).

Last year some campmates flew into Reno, rented a car for 8 days, and her total after gas and carwash was $170, or $85 apiece. They also had the freedom to go to whatever stores they wanted to on the way in, and leaving when they wanted. Had 3 or 4 people pooled together and rented an SUV, it may have even worked out to be less.

Will people be dropped off at the gates, or is the BM Org making provisions to allow the driver through to drop people off at their respective camps with all their gear?

The driver's ticket issue is being addressed and there will be multiple stops close to theme camps.

You can't beat a nice laid back cruise to BRC...the last part of the trip is the worst. Imagine the comfort level. We have 20 rooms penciled in with Circus Circus. Imagine how much easier it would be. Imagine sleeping the whole way back to Reno then getting dropped off to your waiting hotel room.

It's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

I'm probably missing something really obvious (hey, I haven't had my coffee yet), but- why would anyone who's already there early want to go back to Reno on Monday night?

Or at least, even if they needed to go to the store or something, why would anyone want to go from the playa to Reno Monday night without a ride back?

Currently we are at the point of about 11-12 serious responses. I'm working on a form for interested parties to sign up so we can analyze the flight arrival times and peoples needs.
