Burning Man is driven by participants, not spectators.
The Caterpillar project, a large soundbarge/mutant vehicle, and the Temporate Zone, base camp for a new playa faction, The Shadebearers, are in need of proactive volunteers to act as bartenders, entertainers, group discussion leaders, and just friendly folks to help with our endeavors on the playa this year. Any and all are welcome to be a Shadebearer; all you have to do is bring a large parasol and offer shade to people on their artwalks on the playa during the hottest times of the day. We all know how brutal the sun can be, and offering shade to those in need is a valuable service. Shadebearers will meet daily at the Temporate Zone, location TBA. The Caterpillar will be based at the Temporate Zone also, and will need volunteers to help with mobile things.
