artspace theme camp

Post by slinted » Wed Jul 26, 2006 4:04 pm

Woo hoo, we just got our theme camp placed -- we're going to be on the Esplanade at 3:00.

Our camp, 'artspace' will provide display space for dimensionally smaller art. We're offering wall, pedestal, and installation space with lighting, labels, and protection from the elements.

Our goal for 'artspace' is to provide a home on the playa for smaller art pieces, in a space where they won't be dwarfed by the larger pieces. By displaying these smaller works together, many more people will be able to see and appreciate them in a space that will show them off to their best advantage.

Our camp will also have the following amenities: our playa-tested 32 foot diameter conduit dome with a brand new, very shiny cover for shade, a shower/evap pool, dedicated cooking space, and an optional one meal a day meal plan (not included in camp dues).

We have enough space to pick up a few more people to camp with us. Camp dues will range from $225 down to $150 dollars depending upon how much time one is able to devote to helping with the construction of the gallery and other camp projects. Since we are based in San Francisco, this is where the work-weekends will be held.

Those interested in camping with us, wishing to show art with us (we have a few open slots yet), or just interested in helping to bring artspace to fruition please contact us at: [email protected] or via http://tribes.tribe.net/artspace

So, come camp with us, and help bring more art to the Playa!!!

Can I adopt a piece at AntiM's Home for Wayward Art and display it at yours?

Cause that sounds satisfyingly recursive.

You know, RG and I were talking about that just this morning. I think it would be hilarious, although I actually have some real nice art this year. Of course I must get further off my ass and Make More Art. I'm woefully behind.
