What Are You Gifting in 2015.... ?

Last year I helped a friend camped near me be a "Playa Pinguino". We went out every afternoon to deep playa and gave out ice-cold drinks. Ice cold. Good fruit drinks, craft beers, nectars, all unusually good brands. It was a blast. Getting more serious this year, already rebuilding/redesigning a new trike to haul a bigger cooler.

2015 Event already! Nice.............counting the days.

Torrey those necklaces are dope. Hope to find some wandering around next year.

My planned gifts in nor particular order and if procrastination station doesn't set in; vinyl stickers, meatloaf sandwiches, mister bottles, hankerchiefs, resin necklaces, buttons.

Looking to make more gifts this year.

I always fancy cotton everything at the burn but there was a guy with a fleece facemask. Just a triangle of fleece cut the stretchy direction. Beautiful, comfortable, easy to use and I suspect it was functional. I'm making some prototypes.

It's funny the things you find at garage sales. I bought 4 giant rolls of stickers that say, "Saggy old tits' and the other option says, "The bigger the better". They stick on securely for a criss-cross pastie. I tried them. Maybe Unjohn would like to apply these to passer-bys.

The other thing was an impulse buy. A science first van de graaf generator. It makes your hair stand on end among other attributes. I think I'll put it on ebay for a Halloween treat for someone.

The branding Iron will be returning to the playa.

Since the handmade post cards were not a huge hit this year, I plan to make buttons for those less adventurous.

As a birgin, I plan on bringing two sets of gifts. A stockpile of lip balm or chap stick on necklaces (it must just end up taped/glued to yarn) will be my main goodie. For the people that I grow truly fond of, I'm knitting and crocheting a few cotton scarves. Of course, I'll always gift a helping hand.

A couple of days ago my volunteer job gave me a very cool sewing machine. I've been playing with the alphabet embroidery function. This thing is amazing. Program a bunch of letters into it and make a crude patch. I feel a swag-gift coming on.

M&G 2015 at the touch of a button. Who knew?

Kay, you can crochet condoms to gift to people. They are both useful and fun!

Last year we gave away 3d printed tiny penises- this next year I am thinking of creating some 3d printed robots, aliens, or 2015 theme-related objects that are illuminated with an LED and coin cell to give away to illumi-notties

What is the manufacturer and model if I may ask? I do CNC embroidery at TechShop, and you might not be far off from totally custom embroidery artwork.

No. It's just a Viking 500 computer. It's about 20 years old but I never had one that did letters. Shamefully, I own way too many sewing machines. It doesn't have the 100 wonderful patterns that are now available on cheap models but this one is programmable. You select 50 or so items and press go. Because it's 20 years old it doesn't have automatic threading of the needle. Shit. I love that option. The embroidery is archaic. Perfect for homemade BM patches.

If you can gift services it is so remembered and appreciated. After the 3rd or 4th day I give foot massage to my campmate and she purrrs. Any help you can give to set up camps or even hold a light on somebody's work at night is a miracle. If you run across a group arriving at night just stop and help them. They are tired, anxious and frustrated. Lend a hand. Make a friend. When they tell you to stop back later for a drink, DO IT.

That's great advice! Is most of the work going on pretty easy to join in on, or is a lot of it specialty type work (contruction, metalwork, etc)?

Foot massages are a great idea! I'm sure there are more like it!

Is there anything anyone felt was really needed as a gifted service? I'd love to fill a need!

It's been done. I was branded on my right arm in 2012 while on playa. Turned out very nice.
