If it's just me, I will fly.

But, it looks like Billy and I for sure and waiting for Julie's boss to say it's ok.
We will then drive the "Big D" on up.
It will also give us a chance to go look at some properties.
Yes, we are preparing to sell and move up to Reno.

We are now down to our last few spaces. We only have room for four more couples, and that's it. It also sounds like there's going to be a small army of fellow eplayans/burners at the party on the 17th floor of the Empress Tower at The Sands Regency. If you don't want to be left out and wish to grab one of the final few spaces on the train, shoot me a PM ASAP. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

We will still be having the party on the 17th floor of the Empress Tower at the Sands Regency beginning at 7 p.m. on the 24th. If you would like a room, we will let you have one at our cost. Otherwise, come on by, bring something to share (it is, after all, a pot-luck) and let's party down.

I've never attended this fiesta but would like to try this year since I'm only 45min drive south of Reno, so, I'm gonna pose a few real GREENHORN questions here:
1) Is there a cover charge to get in?
2) I know while on the playa many, including myself, have their choice of attire, but this is public facility. So, is there a dress code? can I wear civilian clothes? jeans, a shirt of some kind, coat if it's cold, a ball cap, which I rarely leave home without?
3) I'll be driving home that evening but I have a CDL to protect so I don't want to participate in alcoholic beverages so could I bring my own beverage choice to share of course: Coke, Ice tea etc. My reason for going would be to socialize a few hours and meet as many as possible in person
4) Since this is a potluck what could I bring? snacks etc

Hi catman,
Here's your answers...

1. No cover charge. The party takes place in the 2 big suites (17th floor) and some partying going on in the adjacent mini suites. I have a mini. Just come up to the 17th floor.

2. You can wear whatever you like because the party is in the suites. Some people get dressy (doc wears a tux) some wear casual or playa style.

3. It is byob so bring whatever you like to drink

4. Yes potluck! Bring whatever you'd like. Last year I brought meatballs this year I'm thinking something easier to haul.

and if it happens, there is always crash space somewhere, if anyone can't drive. Even if we need to rent another regular room downstairs........most important we are all safe.

and don't forget the usual trek out to see the frozen (usually) playa........seems there's always a unique sight or vista to behold.....with a stop in Bruno's, on the way back!! this, usually starts late Sunday morning, depending on folks schedules........

Holy Moly!

The stars have aligned and it looks like I'll probably be hoppin' on The Zephyr in Truckee and joining the AMTRAKATHON for the ride and camaraderie!

If all goes well... I plan to the bring the Infamous Volcano~ Flambe~ gourmet coffee cocktail show! It'll be schweet and delicious, not to mention a custom spectacular Gourmet ~Flambe Cocktail~ designed especially for US!

Does anyone know if there's a coffee maker in the suite(s)? I'll bring all the coffee, booze, glasses, fire dust, etc. I can bring a 12 cup coffee maker but I'd rather bring MORE glasses and booze. I plan to be prepared to make about 10 to 12 cocktails...each cocktail served with two straws...sharing is delicious and sexy! For those of you who were there you've seen this amazing Flambe Cocktail at Illy Dilly's Gnome Dome back in 2012. PINEAPPLE!

Though there will be two shuttles from the Amtrak station to the Sands, each can only hold 10 people. So it will take about 30 minutes to get everybody from the train to the hotel if nobody walks. We sure could use some cars to pick people off as we get off the train to ease the shuttle problem. Any takers (besides Ygmir)?
