Wacky queue times?
Is anyone else's wait time jumping all over the place? Mine has gone from less than a minute to 58 minutes to 16 minutes to 31 minutes to "the line is paused". What does "The line is paused" even mean?

Re: Wacky queue times?
I suspect that it means that the line is paused (queue and line are synonymous), probably while a load issue gets sorted.
It's not unusual for queue times to jump around during the initial demand spike during a ticket on-sale.

I'm pretending its like exodus pulsing, and drinking a redbull and taking a mini-nap in prep for the next move...

Re: Wacky queue times?
At least everyone got queued up properly, I hope. Ticketfly ought to be experienced enough at this to sort it out quickly.

Re: Wacky queue times?
My Queue time dropped from 55 minutes to 29 minutes (heart fluttering), to "The line is paused" to "you will move to the next step in: more than an hour.
The next morning you will wake up pretty much your old self except that a very unusual 16 hours will have been added to your store of life experience.

Re: Wacky queue times?
yea. its all over place. from less to minute, to 49 mins, then 6 mins, then 12, then more than hour
Re: Wacky queue times?
Thanks trilobyte.
went frrom 30 seconds to 35 min to 'more than an hour'
now 'the line is paused' login time 12:00:29
I just hope they don't blow the queue away. Fingers crossed.
oops just changed to: 'more than an hour' (guess TickeyFly fixed a problem)

Re: Wacky queue times?

Would anyone happen to know how can I go about jumping back into queue if, say, I need to run back to work?
Is it as easy as sending myself the URL? Or copying the 'Queue ID' at the bottom of the page? Wouldn't want to risk it if I don't know for sure - but my boss will likely be pissed with my 2 hours lunch.
My thanks in advance!

No, you're not going to be able to do that.

There's no resuming your place in line from a different machine
Re: Wacky queue times?
If your lunch is 2 hours for this, you already lost...they sold out in 45 minutes last year. We're already halfway through.

It sounds to me like your food didn't agree with you and you're on the toilet retching. At least, as far as your boss knows.

Gotcha, I see. I guess that message at the top of the queue (http://i.imgur.com/rvzAjH9.png) is standard for TicketFly platform, but not for this specific event?trilobyte wrote:There's no resuming your place in line from a different machine

You're welcome to do whatever you think will give you a greater chance of success.
Re: Wacky queue times?
My wife and I are trying to get four tickets. Got right in with one computer, no walking green man, got two tickets. A green walk on the other computer with anywhere fro 5 to 56 minute wait.

Re: Wacky queue times?
My understanding is that it does not reflect everyone suddenly losing their place or being pushed back, as much as it reflects the estimation calculation being adjusted to try and be more realistic.

Re: Wacky queue times?
Yeah I figured I wasn't losing my place in line, but if the adjusted estimation is correct, and based on last year's 45 minute sell out time, it's a little discouraging. Anyhoo, I'm just typing to pass the time...trilobyte wrote:My understanding is that it does not reflect everyone suddenly losing their place or being pushed back, as much as it reflects the estimation calculation being adjusted to try and be more realistic.
Re: Wacky queue times?
Mine were wacky at first, but then got pretty darn accurate counting down the last 15 mins.
What upsets me is that lots of people are getting through by opening a new window from clicking on the link in your email, while they're still waiting on another page that was opened minutes earlier.

Can you at least admit that nuclear explosions are awesome!?
Re: Wacky queue times?
Same story here. Logged in at 12:00.30 with more than an hour wait. at 40 min in it said 8 min left, then 16 min, then more than an hour! WTF? dropped back to 21 a minute later then to 16 and was almost accurate from there.
Re: Wacky queue times?
Sold out.
Was literally on line in the first 2 sec.

Re: Wacky queue times?
The problem with 40K-ish people all hitting servers simultaneously is that there are 40K-ish people who were all right there within the first second or two. I've experienced the same thing when participating in limited presales on concerts and other events. You've got my sympathies, it's very very frustrating.

Re: Wacky queue times?
I was in queue at 12:00:34 and started at 59 minutes to 34 to "paused in line". Then on three separate occasions, it went from 30 minutes to over an hour. When I finally got passed the 30 minute mark, I made it all the way down to 2 minutes before the message popped up to tell tickets were sold out.

Of course it was actually closer to 80k people trying for 40k tix. Just sayin.
My only complaint was waiting for 45minutes after it sold out. Apparently just to to beg for a donation.
Re: Wacky queue times?
I want to know when the tickets actually sold out. If I was waiting all that time for no reason, I am going to be freakin' pissed off. Also, was the line first come first serve, or was that total bullshit as well? If I'm being lied to this year, I damn well want to know before the next year.
You've been designated for termination.
Re: Wacky queue times?
You're definitely being lied to. Trust no one.
FUCK YOU, I'M A WIZARD. FUCK YOU, I'M A SHARK.
Re: Wacky queue times?
I went though all the way to the Ticketfly page that only allowed me to purchase a donation. Then an option came up for me to buy tickets, then the Ticketfly site seemed to crash as a message appeared stating that the site was down and they would rectify as soon as possible. I gave up.
