M*A*S*H 4207th is not recruiting for 2016
M*A*S*H 4207th will be returning for our 18th year on playa, residing once again in 404://Village Not Found.
3:00 neighborhood, you can rest easy knowing we are here to stop the spread of godless communism, mutants, and 5th column infiltrators.
We will once again be showing old episodes of the show every night. This year we are going with themed nights, focusing on specific characters or actors.
Random security checkpoints, blockades, and raids may happen at any time.
M*A*S*H 4207th is not accepting new recruits. We are not seeking campers.
No amount of money* will get you in. Our dues are ridiculously low. You can’t pay them.
We don’t need your mad skillz as a __________. There are enough _______________ on the playa.
You will not get fed by our communal kitchen, since we don’t have one. Everyone eats at different times and has different dietary needs. Bring and prepare your own meals.
We will not provide bikes, tents, costumes, or power to your RV.
Still think you have what it takes to join this man’s army? Answer one simple question:
Why do you want to join M*A*S*H 4207th?
Why do you want to join (insert any theme camp name here)?
I will give you a hint: The answer most likely to get you into an existing theme camp is a variation on the following sentences:
“I LOVE _________(the theme of the camp)! I’ve been a fan of _________(the theme of the camp) for years, and I am so jazzed that there is a theme camp full of people that feel the same way! I’d love to join you guys and help promote ______(the theme of the camp)!”
I will give you a second hint: Treating any theme camp like a hotel, and showing no interest in what the camp is actually about, is a fast train to NoResponseville. Read this to learn more about joining theme camp.
See you in the dust. Come by Rosies during the day for a medical grade martini or maybe even a grape Nehi.

I don't care what the borg says: feather-wearers will NOT be served in Rosie's Bar.
When I ask how many burns, I mean at BRC.

Awe, come on man! I've got vicious underwater basket weaving skills, I'd make a great fit...Plus I need somewhere that offers showers and a meal plan, you do have showers and a meal plan right? (vegan please)
Ask not what a camp can do for you, but what you can do for your camp!

I tried to send this in a PM, but I don't think it made it out:
Subject: Noresponseville? how about maybeville?

Hello CO,
I came across your posting in here and I can't stop reading it. I love the no fucks given attitude, just like the guys on MASH. I grew up with that show and their humor and cynicism have stuck with me to this day. And you guys sound like you are following in their footsteps. I know this is the 11th hour for recruitment but I have been in a series of quite unfortunate events that prevented me from procuring a space at the burn this year (I'm not going to bore you with sob story). But I look at this as a blessing. Not having a camp has allowed me to broaden my horizons and attempt to find more like minded people.
I am writing in the hopes of joining a new band of misfits and according to
your description I think I might fit just right in...
Brief Me:
this will be my 3rd burn (should be 4th but ticket issues 2 years ago). I
have been a part of large theme camps in the past and am interested in a
smaller group as I feel like it was hard to get to really know people. I
have always been more than willing to carry my share of the load, whether
it was cleaning showers, cooking meals, or building structures. My first
year I was with Lost Lounge who housed the temple crew, last year was
Heroes & Supervillains (worst experience of my life) and this year it was supposed to be Planet Earth.
But my ticket didn't get confirmed until late so I was unable to join them.
I will be traveling solo, but offering rides from LA. I will have a single
6-person tent and can grab a shade structure if needed. I am
trying to arrive no later than Tuesday morning.
If you think you might have space, and are willing to take on a new private ready to BE A PART of the camp, please PM me with a little more detail about your camp and infrastructure and anything else that I might be able to help MASH prosper as well.
Best,
Nicholas
