First Time Burner Looking for Camp

Post by yaro » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:20 pm

Hello fellow Burners! I planned to go to burning man with a few friends and I was one of the people lucky enough to get a ticket. :D Although, the others did not get the ticket in time. I am traveling alone, but I want to make it happen. I need help in joining a camp, if anyone is willing to take me in! If there are fellow burners traveling from the San Francisco Bay Area and have room for one more I would love to join you folks.

If anyone wants to meet up in person and grab a coffee to chat!

Burner Out!

Hi Yaro, San Francisco pretty much empties out when everyone heads out to the burn. Getting yourself to Nevada with all of your gear is part of the adventure. Don't sit around waiting for someone to contact you. Start by reading the info on the burning Man site. The Survival Guide is a good start. You can shop for a camp but you'll still need to either drive, (with a vehicle pass to get in), or book a ride on the Burner Express Bus. You can check out the ride share board here. Maybe you'll find a fit. Good luck and welcome to ePlaya.

Thanks Ratty! I have a vechile pass and a ticket so I think those are the first two important things. I have a single person tent and will get all the food and water that I need. I am worried about shelter or a yurt to put my tent into so it can work out. Do have any advice for me with the shelter for my tent, how does one go about doing this?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to ePlaya!

A monkey hut is a Playa tested and proven shade structure for your tent and is easy and cheap. You can find the plans here: http://www.chromatest.net/Lovemonkey/

I have been using one for a few years now and they work very well.
