I'm so old I remember when I'd fly across the Atlantic, entering by climbing up stairs from the ground, sit in seats facing other passengers, with a table between us for reading or playing cards, in a plane that had four propellers. I'd spend hours in the cockpit.
And real food.

I'm so old I remember when I saw television for the first time. There was a small fire in our house and Dad sent my sister and I next door. And there it was: a small boxy unit with an almost round screen. I suppose I got hooked immediately and for weeks whined at my parents until they relented and bought one. Weird thing: my Mom would save my crayon drawings, writing on the back what the image was supposed to be, and the date. One of the first scribbles was our TV sitting on a cabinet that held all the 78rpm records.

I remember when the TV sat on the floor and had 8 inch legs under the cabinet. There was also a TV lamp on top of it. That would save you from going blind. Or so they said.

Someone may have mentioned this previously at some point, but, I remember when it used to be that when you turned off the TV, you'd end up with a little white glowing dot in the center of the screen, which then slowly faded away to black.
