4th Burn - Solo & looking to join a camp!

Post by nratzan » Sat Aug 20, 2022 10:36 am

Hello all!

I'm a solo burner looking for a theme-camp to call my family and home this year! I know it's late -
I was heads-down with work and realize I still haven't joined a camp and the burn starts in less than 10 days!  Better late than never!

I've been to Burning Man in 2010, 2011, and 2013. I can't wait to get back to the playa!

Who am I?
I'm laidback, eager to contribute and help out or offer new ideas for the camp's success. I work as a professional designer and am pretty decent at problem-solving various things. I'd be very flexible to learn new tasks and work in different roles around the camp or with the public, if that's a thing at your camp.

Who are you?
I'm looking for a chill camp, or at least one that's chill and (relatively) quiet at night. I'm more into day-time than night-time at the burn.

Also, I'd ideally join a camp who would let me contribute to the cost of bringing water and food and a kitchen to the playa. I'm taking the Burner Bus to the playa, and I won't be able to bring much other than a tent and some personal items.

Please let me know if you know of any camps that I should talk to and see if it's a good match. Thank you!!!

It’s a good thing: problem solving. BXB has a water offering. You might get some collapsible water containers and a soft cooler, bring a parasol. Backpacker burner, small pan, freeze dried foods pack small.
:coffee:
Just a thought in case. You would count it as one of the most awesome adventures of your life!

Roll on through, Tumbleweed.

Love you! Mean it!

What Elorrum said. Grow a pair. You’ve been 3 times so there are few surprises for you.

Problem solving skills … I don’t know man …

I did BM one year with a cooler, beach chair and wide brim hat + clothing and dry rations.

It’s not that hard.

Ha, yes!!! I will totally take this seriously. Yes, AND...

... anyone who perhaps wants an extra camper, I'm game! I'm a joiner, so doing the solo thing isn't as appetizing. I've been with theme camps the past three years, and the more I joined others, I happier camper I was! ;) But of course they're full already, ergo the search.

Thanks for the tips to consider the solo backpacker burn. I'm going to look more into it. In the meanwhile, I'm also sending off emails to camps from the 2022 directory. Any help is appreciated. Cheers!!
