You are not a bad friend, Patsh. You are a cherished friend. It was a lapse in communication, and you have apologized and I’ve accepted it. A valid threat of a houseguest seriously did wonders for the condition of my home. I am enjoying that still.

“In spite of ourselves” is my new approach to the cherished bonds I have that have lasted. I ain’t no picnic, and I trust we all try to do better when we are able. Please be at ease concerning me.

It’s probably a good thing I didn’t attempt renegade. Heat and work aren’t as good for me as they once were. Four years of living with fear, and being on high alert, has done a trick on my circulation, and I’ve started the process to see what the extent of that is, and do all that is suggested by some pros. I got to the point where diy was not gonna work. I understand my body is the boss for at least a while. You cannot ignore the boss.

I am swooning over the goodie bag of stuff Patsh handed off to lucky. Washers! After paying ?more than a dollar for 2 #8 washers a year or so ago, the curated handful should get me through a lot of projects. Switches. An interesting elastic band of durable nature holding a sturdy bag in a good travelling roll. Small ziplocks for small led and batteries. Thank you!!! Your department offerings were well curated. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: Salute!

Hey Bar! Dang the weather on playa, I bet it’s been nice. I kick myself every weekend this time of year that turns out this beautiful: “how come I’m not camping?” :coffee: :coffee:

Hi Elorrum!
yeah, I bet it's perfect out there, brisk nights, warmish days... well, the road is open...
Have you ever wandered around out there looking for rocks or arrowheads? I know there is some decent rock hounding here and there on the hills to the south side of the playa, one would imagine all around there are things to find.
It' still pretty hot here in the days, but nights and mornings are very nice, so there's that.

Hi there Yg, Elorrum, Patsh and other bar people curled up in the NEB. Things are going pretty well here, though we did see a lot of rain and a few hours of fairly high winds. Nothing like what people experienced further south though. And apparently western NC has been hit really hard with devastating flooding as well. No big problems locally, other than some temporary power outages nearby, and downed trees here and there. Autumn hasn't really kicked in yet, so the leaves haven't started turning colors, and most decided to stay put for now despite the wind.

I imagine being on the playa at this point would be a great camping experience Elorrum. I realize you've been able to do it repeatedly in the past. Peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings, with the faint echo in your mind of all the cacophony that has been there before. It makes me wonder when Resto finishes and the closure order expires. There is always the "northern" portion of the playa that remains open right? Seems like a nice, peaceful way to spend a day or two!

Ygmir *pokes toe at lump in NEB*. I hope you are sleeping through as much as you can. *arranges soup hot pot on hot items table (with sneeze guard)* bowls, spoons, trays. Fresh wheat rolls.

I prescribe chili lime and coconut… Tom ka gai soup is an excellent Thai soup that can really loosen the old head sluices. Or Campbell chicken noodle If your freezer doesn’t have a quart of broth from the last whole chicken you ate, with half a lime, some bell pepper? a bit of chopped fresh chili if your stomach is ok with a medicinal fire. If I were your neighbor I’d bring you a qt. of frozen. I make a very bland version, and add chilis, chili garlic sauce, maybe sriracha, Tabasco, habanero, whatever heat is in the house.
Fresh cilantro, fresh lime to taste.

Wow, Elorrum, what a soup! my issue would be, can't have any hot pepper type stuff. none at all. but the rest sounds great.
Hi BVB! thanks. in the scale of covid issues, I'd say "moderate". Not as bad as when I had it a few years ago, but no fun AT ALL. ugh.

HI BVB!! ha, good one!
yeah, this covid stuff seems weird: the "flu" feeling part only last a few days, and not real severe, but, it seems I have a little lingering congestion, and upset stomach, along with feeling "old and weak", getting tired easy.
Ugh, this getting old stuff....

So, it looks like we're really gonna have a 2025!
Wondering if we'll have a 2025 version of the Bar.
(and, if so, where would I find it?)

Here's wishing all of us bar folks a wonderful, healthy, happy, and prosperous year.

Happy New Year to you too Patch.
The 2025 bar is on order. I requested an elaborate neon sign for the bar, and I think the org has cut this back to a stenciled cardboard one. We will continue to have top shelf, virtual booze.

According to the Borg, there will be a substantial cover charge to get in the door.

Hi all! Been a while. Had a lot of shit happen since the burn concluded, trying to get back to things. Had a great burn and saw some good folks. My art project went off great! Time for a quick coffee and then on to the day.

Onto Vodka Tonics for the night.

I did find some recordings I made of the sound that the art piece made. Here is one that I have cleaned up to remove a lot of the wind noise.

I wish I had a place with mostly constant wind because that is what it needs. The gusty wind I get here in Michigan does not bring out the sound.

I'm not sure my Hof will ever be "done", but certainly working along on it. I don't know what I posted last, but the rock siding is all up, steel doors are on, and I made a new wooden floor with my sawmill and installed it. Netting around the upper loft so folks can sleep up there and not worry about falling off. hahaah.
