Hey, If I win the lottery you can come and build museum exhibits for my decadent new over the top house. I'll let you live in the shed and cook for me too.Zulegoona wrote:Thanks,
Good if not productive,.. I need to win the lottery, I've gotten to enjoy this gentleman of leisure shit to much.
I'm going to be helping a friend work on his house later in the week just to remind me of working is like,.. there could be some coin in it for me too.

Dang! Berkeley's Wild Oats got sold a couple of years ago, andit was our best health food market. Now we're stuck with the crowds at Berkeley Bowl or the wierd corporate atmosphere at Whole Foods or the bizarre cutsyness at Trader Joes. Oh well, there's always the Monteray Market I suppose. . .gigglesnort wrote:....we actually have our own little Wild Oats, with a teeny little produce section, which occasionally has organic cucumbers. Course, my friends around here look at me cross eyed if I offer such a sandwich to them and start looking around for heli's bacon and eggs.

whole foods can be handy, tj's has got cheap wine, but i LOVE madison market. it's a local co-op, with really good food and good staff. it's right around the corner from my old house. and get this - open until 11pm. it's fuckin' unheard of.theCryptofishist wrote:Dang! whole foods may have a corporate atmosphere thing going on, but let me tell you that the first time I walked into the boulder store on Pearl and came face to face with that words-fail-to-describe wonder that is their produce department, and then kept going to find their fish, and the meat case, and the cheeses and olives oh my......I swear I'd never seen food before in my life until I visited that store.
Wild Oats here gets the job done but just does not inspire awe. It used to be a little local Beans and Grains and Things, but it didn't inspire awe then, either.
I'm getting no work done. I think I'm going to move away from the computer now and see how that changes my mindframe. Blurhg.

The Berkeley Wild Oats was the closest thing I could find to the Chico Co-op Market. People knew the clerks and all. I definately go to the sf whole foods (~3 blocks from work) and the E-ville tjs. But I miss the old coop too.

Ummm, thanks Z! You invented (identified?) my new favorite drink ... it's a gin and tonic with sweet lime juice, hold the tonic. I guess with regular lime juice it's a gibson. So what can we call the new one?Zulegoona wrote:seem to be out of limes but there is some lime juice,.. will you be wanting a glass and some ice?

Here, you can have the rest of this bottle. I won't be needing any for a while. See, I am pretty much a beer/wine kinda person. Whisky and harder drinks make me stupider ... WAY stupider. I like to be in the company of people I trust when I drink that stuff because I have been known to loose my ability to .... maintain consciousness when drinking hard stuff. It puts me to sleep.

Gosh, GE, sory it is such a crap day. I am a little hung over ... no headache, just thirsty as hell and behind in my work on a big project and have a 3yo whose butt just exploded. *sigh* I guess the whole west coast is screwed today.
At least it is a bright and sunny morning here finally. Now off to work ...

Ooo! sitting in the corner, grumbling at passersby sounds perfect...
*pulls lovesac up next to Purple*
by the way, Purple, I had wanted to tell you why I never call you Koosh: my dog's name is Mercutio: Koosh for short... just thought you'd like to know...
*getting up, grabbing two beers, sitting back down again, and passing a beer to Purple*

I'm sorry, sweetie - I'm a weirdo who doesn't drink beer. But that's okay, it means you don't have to get up for a second one.GuinivereElise wrote:*getting up, grabbing two beers, sitting back down again, and passing a beer to Purple*

*in strolls Sandwich right by Purple and GE. To further aggravate them he pulls out a cell phone and starts talking loudly and never even dials*
Figured you need some target pratice to get the aim of your grumbling honed.

Oh... no beer for you.. .here I was, just trying to be nice..
by the way, Rian... I think I caught your can't-type-bug... I can't type for shit today...
Hey sandwich: that reminds me of people who come into my store and don't hang up their phone, but ask me a question. almost always, the answser to the question, whatever it is, is NO. You don't have time to hang up the phone and talk to me like a normal human, I don't have time to help you.
*grumble*
