Mama said there'd be days like those. Well, my mama didn't, I kinda figured it out on my own.

I love the sound of a heavy rainfall. Unless I hear it for an entire month, then I don't like it so much anymore. We actually have another blue-sky day here looks like, but chilly (can't say cold or those minnesotans will snort at me).

Mornin'.... just in for a quick nip, and then back to what passes for work life... two weeks and counting, and then I can work on that novel I've had on the shelf for several years.... warm up with a dozen or so short stories... yes... It's good to have plans...

'94 Toyota 4wd xtra-cab pu, 5 speed. 125,000 miles. stock, no a/c, power, or cruise.

I'd like to get a newer, extracab pu, a/c, V6, auto, power lock/windows, lower miles.

My sister has a Tundra with x-cab and she loves it... actually, I'm thinking of stealing it from her. I drove a regular Tundra for about a year and fell in love with it. They are a very sound truck.

I've never tried scotch before...sure I'll try some.
I like Toyotas. I would miss my truck though since I bought it new. Wish I could just get a V6 put in it. A/C is a grand to put in.

Nope, not for sale, it's my baby. 350 4 barrel, very good truck.
I hadn't read Clemens in 20 years or so. Life on the Mississippi is a magnificent work, he describes the river like I did when I was training new river guides. I am half through A Connecticut Yankee now. Good stuff.

M-Sky... do not put a V-6 in your current truck... remember: Love makes us do foolish things... just get another one, pat your baby on the hood and bid her goodbye...

of course, I couldn't do that with Ol' Blue ('90 Dodge 4X4, old Calif. Fish and Game truck) I still have visions of rebuilding her from the tires to the carb... total drive train rebuild. Easier (and cheaper) to get a new truck... But I do love Ol' Blue...

I don't think I want to buy a truck with higher miles on it then my truck but a low price.......I want a V6 because my little 4 cyl seems under powered.
Oh, the g-man is mad, he just had to back all the way down the street because of the street is blocked by two cars parked across from one another!

Guin... you've seen Blue... hell, you've ridden in Blue... how could I ever own something like that. Blue and I are partners.... although, if she keeps acting the way she's acting lately, we may part ways. She's telling me I need to clean her injectors, and I'm telling her she needs to clean her own damn injectors... *sigh* it's just a lover's spat.

M-Sky... Yeah, I had the choice of the Tundra or a four banger and I took the Tundra... and it was great. The company I was with phased out all their four bangers and have gone with either Tundra's or vans...

I kick myself (but then kick the salesman) because when I went to buy a truck they had a V6 sitting on the lot and I should've gotten that one and the dealer didn't say "Hey, I'll make ya a deal on that one instead."

did you go to the LL? i started to, got about 6 blocks, stopped, turned around, and headed to the dive diner by my house. i really needed to get some work done anyway.

I'm ok. it's been a tough month, you know? Supposedly the drama could be over again.... but i don't really believe it. I've said that so many times the past few weeks.

On the upside, my dad remembered my birthday! not that he usually forgets, it's just been a little strange these past years. i sent him that picture of his brother who was killed in Vietnam, the one i mentioned last week. he's never seen it before either, and it choked him up just as much...

you going to movie night on wednesday?

seriously, the final breakdown is pretty funny... ready:

9 (?) guests
15 empty wine bottles (plus a few random beer bottles)
14 empty wine glasses (don't ask me how that happened)
1 icky rug
and when I came down in the morning and saw the *gulp* HAMMER out on the counter.... yipes!

that, and the fact that the only surface on which to set anything was the famed piano bench in the kitchen.... we had many a good chuckle about it.....
