I've thought about it. It would mean getting healthcare...
I suppose if you have NO healthcare it is better than nothing. But I am not hearing glowing reports about Canada's system. Many of their people come here and pay out of pocket if they can for major procedures. It gets done better and faster.
I've heard that one problem for Canadian health care is americans coming in and trying to use it.

(The never ending blanket begins to move... A lump under the covers eases from the left, to the right, then round and round in frantic circles until finally emerging at the top between Cryptofishist and RJ.)

Man... it’s stuffy under there. And somebody’s feet got some rightous funk goin' on

Just popped in to let you all know that there is lots of sunspot activity today... solars flares (we felines have a sense for stuff like that , you know...) Look to the northern skies tonight. A few weeks ago I saw an aurora like I’ve never seen in my life. Reaching almost to the midpoint of the dome of night and from near direct west to near direct east. And that in Ky, so I’m betting you crazy Scandinavian and Norwegian types up there in iceworld will get something cool to look at.

See ya!!

(Disappears under the NEB, once again forming a lump that remains motionless and slowly, slowly disappears)

Can you imagine 22 years without any real sense of knowing if you were accepted by one of the most influential figures of your life. Uhm. Depends. I have to admit to shitting on a couple people's dreams. Sometimes you have to sit someone down and say "Your idea of opening a X shop/business/invention is nice, but have you actually thought about more than just the concept?"

My ex and my brother are perfect examples. My ex wanted to make a living selling artisitic greeting cards. Granted, they are very cool, but a quick financial analysis shown that there was no way in hell that she could make enough to live on unless she sold them for $10 a piece- and at around 150 per week. I had to naviate the sticky path of convincing her to not rely on it without hurting her feelings.

My brother, on the other hand, had an idea for an invention. All he had to do was get investors to give him 1/4 million. Uh, no. I had to sit him down and ask tougher questions- do you have a concrete business proposal with market evidence showing it could truely sell? Do you have distributers that would sell the item for you (he was planning on selling a million units)? Do you have a place to store these million huge ass pieces of equipment? Can you convince investors that an non-degreed draftsman can produce a profit for them in a volatile market? One that has never run a business, or been in marketing? How much was alloted to advertizing and marketing (ie. how would people know to buy it)? If someone steals your design, do you have a lawyer and funds to go after them?

Needless to say, the answer was no.
