I got this a while ago and absolutely loved the Iggy vs Rollins bit. My son woke up I was laughing so hard.technopatra wrote:I just got a copy of the "Henry Rollins: Live from Luna Park" DVD.
It was in the comedy section, whcih I thought was a mistake, but it wasn't. It's a collection of "spoken word" that is more like some of the funniest stand-up comedy I've ever seen. Some of it falls flat, but the rest is great.
Be sure to go to the Special Feature, which is a hi-LAR-ious bit called "Henry Rollins Vs. Iggy Pop".
Rollins is one of those people I love listening to his tales. His old spoken word series from the mid-nineties was alot of great humor as well. I remember his rants about Bono.

Another film that someone reccommended in these forums somewhere was "Waking Life"
I fucking loved it. I love the style of animation and the conversations. Very cool.
On a very lighter note just saw recently Starsky and Hutch and Dodgeball both great.

So, after hearing all about how great and funny 'Bad Santa' is, i can say that i was sorely disappointed.
I watched it with a BRCACer last weekend and it was fuckin' HEARTWARMING!!! what is this shit? i was expecting colon-blowing funny, rip-your-fingernails-out cruel.
MY COLON IS STILL INTACT!
it just goes to show, the one who calls himself 'santa' don't know shit.

Fine, then if you really need worse Santa action- then find Santa Claws or Christmas Evil.

I was kinda partail to Jack Ridder's expression to hearing "You're not gonna shit right for a month!" coming from the changing room stall.Rian Jackson wrote:um, yeah, we even watched the 'badder' unrated version.
i did kind of like the 'fucking santa fucking santa fucking santa' part though.

that would make sense, but AFAIK the whole thing stemmed from when whoever the actor dude is said that he was an 'adjective adjective adjective fucking santa'Ranger Genius wrote:I'm reasonably confident it's "fuck me, santa; fuck me, santa!"
i took it to be [i'm] fucking santa.
but i wouldn't stake my life on it.

Whoever the actor dude is? You mean Bily-Bob Thornton? I'll have to grab the DVD and turn on the subtitles. It's possible I only heard what I expected to, but's it's possible that you did, too. I'll find out for sure.

Nope. I have the DVD- its one of the Gilmore girls chanting "fuck me Santa fuck me Santa fuck me Santa fuck me Santa fuck me Santa fuck me Santa" repeatedly.Ranger Genius wrote:Whoever the actor dude is? And I was referring to Jack the Tripper, failed cereal killer.

Hotel Rwanda
Just saw Hotel Rwanda starring Don Cheadle the other day. It's a great movie, though quite disturbing. It's a story based on true events that occurred during the civil war / genocide in Rwanda in the mid 90s. It was a very powerful film.
On a lighter note, Lemony Snickets was also quite good. Jim Carey has come a long way since Once Bitten...

I liked The Aviator more than I thought I would..
DiCaprio actually did a damn fine decent job portaying the mental illness of Hughes, his best acting to date by far, IMO.
Kate Blanchett at first seemed a parody of Hepburn, but I quickly warmed up to the character.
Kate Beckensale was simply stunning.
I never knew Hughes crashed a plane into Hollywood!

went to the Crest theatre, where shows are 3-bucks...
saw a fabulous fucking flick called A Tale of Two Sisters.
Korean horror (not in the blood'n'guts style, but in a supernatural sort of style) film, eerie in more ways than one, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I haven't been that emotionally exhausted after a film in a good long time.
COMPLETELY worth seeing. Amazing. Thrilling.

That's not really saying much, is it? It's like comparing one Pauly Shore performance to another. Kate Blanchett, however, is a Goddess. Have you seen Bandits? I bought it in the discount bin for five bucks, never having seen it. It's one of my favorite movies now.QuasiPseudo wrote:DiCaprio['s]...best acting to date by far, IMO.

Heh.. yeah, doesnt have much impact. But Hollywood has decided his performance is oscar-worthy. Dont know about that, but it was a decent film. Its hard to get by DiCaprio's baby-face, especially as hughes gets older, but I thought he did well. Check it out when ya can.
Ill look out for Bandits. Ive got an oldschool video store near my house, lots of unrated versions & obscure titles. And yes, Blanchett is a goddess, & the elf queen.

I don't know why Bandits was so badly publicized. It's got Bruce Willis (in my favorite role he's done), Billy-Bob Thornton in one of his best. It's hilarious and exciting, so I don't know why it did so poorly. You can probably get it cheap from the pre-viewd DVD section of a Hollywood or Bluckbuster video store still. They bought lots of copies and then no one had heard of the film. Shame.

What you really should do is drag it into the alley, set fire to it, and then extinguish it by urinating on it.
