Ohhh... I was wishing for a lap (hopping up)

My days been good. Got going much earlier than normal and have been on and off with the shop. It would seem that I’ve put so much time into great deep discussions lately, that my poor cat brain hurts and I’d almost forgotten how to simply be, well... a cat. Perhaps a lap is just the trick...

Heh. Sounds familiar.

The ex and I have a mutual long-distance girlfriend (who had the dubious honor of mediating our breakup - we both hated putting her in that position, but were both really glad she was there). On the whole, she practices non-hierarchical polyamory, and is particularly adamant about not wanting to label her relationships, or to be labeled, in that fashion. But she knew that her relationships with the ex and me (she was involved with each of us individually, as well as the three of us being collectively involved - I'll draw y'all a diagram sometime) were secondary to the relationship the ex and I had...and she was okay with that.

I've been meaning to write to her recently - she's in the process of changing jobs, so she's got a lot of excitement (and stress) in her life right now - but it's so hard to know what to say...so much of our relationship was wrapped up in the triad, for all that it existed outside of it as well, that it's still a little difficult to talk to her without talking about him. And I don't want my relationship with her to devolve into a method of keeping tabs on him - we all deserve better than that.
