More playa pics

Post by tcbeatie » Thu Sep 16, 2004 2:49 pm

I'm unclear whether this or '2004 Event/Share' is the best place to announce this, so it's in both..

I've finally gotten my pictures uploaded and captionated, and as last year, one of my favorite playa gifts is sharing them with people.

Enjoy!

I just got mine back and I have no idea why I took most of them. The magic, et cetera, just ain't there. To tell the truth, the focus ain't there much either.

I have one of the fellow with the horse-like vehicle. If you're out there, horse vehicle guy, I apologize for not asking permission before I took it. It was going by so quick and I thought it looked so cool that, I am sorry to say, I just snapped the photo without thinking. I saw him from a distance on the playa two or three times after and tried running over to express my regret but I was never able to reach him before he moved on.

I have no photos of naked women. I don't know, it just seemed a bit much to go up to a stranger lady and ask for such a thing. In fact I tried not to ogle or stare at any naked people, period. I only messed up once. What?! I couldn't help it. A woman tapped me on the shoulder for a sno-cone and before I knew it I had turned around and those peaches were right in my face. Hello! ---ok, sno-cone.

So, anyway, I have a decent shot of me in the port-a-potty and an all-right one of the white-out. Thank God I have a memory that will warp things into magical perspective.

Whoah. Whose project was this? This is cool.

"As I was coming back from scoping out my assigned space, we came across this little guy. Basically, a solar panel attached to wheels that just rode over the playa, only turning from it's course by burner intervention."

Great pics. I've used them in the past to convince a few people to go (e.g., for my mechanically-inclined friend, "LOOK AT ALL THAT MAGYVERING!!! YOU SHOULD GO!")

Thanks for sharing the photos. It was great to see all the creativity and happy people. I wasn't able to make it to the burn this year. Mark my words, I WILL BE THERE IN 2006!!!

I wasn't expecting to see any photos so soon from my fellow burners so you can only imagine the joy I felt to see that YOU had them ready!! Thank you.

The week was hard for me (and my friends who had to put up with me in the default world). I left a party early Saturday night so I could see the burn on the web cam. Now today I can see some pix. So many people. The art. WOW! You are truly blessed. A million more thanks!

Peace, hug, and kisses,

WOW! You really know how to capture the moments. Thank you. Those pix were just awsome. I can tell you had a great time. I know its going to be hard to clean the playa dust off all of your things. Not just physically but mentally.

Thanks for sharing your moments with me and putting a smile on this burner's face.

Much Love,
