Unfortunately, this year (2005), I lost some very valuable items at Burning Man, including my passport, my laptop computer, and large amounts of foreign currency. They were all in a blue bag that I left by the side of the road during Exodus. It was stupid.
Has anyone here had any experience with finding lost items left at Burning Man?
Is it worth it to try and go back and look, even a week later?
I have emailed lostfound, and also left a message on the "lost" message board, but with no results.
Any tips greatly appreciated!
What do to when you lose your passport at Burning Man?

One- Contact the LLC to see if it was found and turned in. (You can also contact BLM and enquire the same)
Two - Contact your local consulate *immediately* - most if not all have provisions to issue you a replacement to get home.
Three - Keep ALL personal essentials in a buttpack, and keep it either locked IN camp in a strongbox, or on your person, at ALL times.

Don't go back, sweetie - everything gets packed out, even lost and found. Keep checking your post here, and watch for an announcement about lost and found items brought home. seems they do that every year.
