Playa dust in weird places...help!

Post by Melina » Sat Sep 10, 2005 9:02 pm

Hello, I'm a second year burner. Last year when I went, on the plane ride back home, I felt a UTI coming on. No burning, just pressure, like I had to pee, but nothing comes out. Well, I saw 3 doctors, and got tested for STDs, and UTI's and it all came out clear. It's just a weird pressure that is slowly driving me CRAZY! It happened again this year. I think playa dust got up in my nether regions. Does anyone know how to get it out?? I've done the whole baths, cranberry tablets, no sex, ect...
thanks!
PS~ it was worth it! :D

Maybe it's psychological. If you've been drinking a lot of water on the playa and peeing a lot, then the change back to relatively normal drinking habits might be messing with your body and mind a bit.

Just a thought.

This sounds like one of those cases where flying in the face of convention and douching might at least help your sanity, if not your comfort level. And hey - they already make 'em in vinegar-and-water solutions! ;-)

well, vinegar DOES do a remarkable job of removing the playa from everything else...

There just may be a home remedie that will help. I have to drink a lot of green tea to get my pee on time again. Keep trying, good luck

I'd also suggest if you haven't done so already actually DRINKING Cranberry juice instead of tablets. Tablets never do crap for me but every time I get a UTI I drink about a gallon of the good 'ol cran by the end of the day and wake up feeling fine. I'm usually cleared up and happy within hours! You might also want to try taking acidophilous in case it's a digestive thing. And if it happens again in '06 try seeing another doctor when you get back! Maybe a fresh outlook on the pro's end would shed some light?
