Umm, shit. Am I supposed to fly out today?

I'm not sure I'd really want to hit New York. I think what you said about Vegas would work better.

Cool, once we find each other we can hang out by the pool and play "cabana boy".

Now go to bed already! Or you're going to have that cold for longer than you like.

morning all.
just need to report.... the older son (defensive tackle) played excellent defense (good pursuit) at the homecoming football game... made a sack on the second to last play of the game in overtime... right after the game, a groin muscle snapped. man, he is in some pain!
now, if i can get him to pick up his math book.

Okay, here's the deal... I SO want to go and stir up shit in another thread. There's this wacko that's been sending psychotic PM's to anyone he disagrees with, and lo and behold, one of the other posters in that very same thread once sent me an invective filled PM - it went something like this: "Fuck you, you fucking fuck..." and went on for a paragraph or two. You could just feel the spittle runnin' down his chin.

Today, for whatever reason, I feel like flaming the living bejezuz out of this pool-boy but I can't bring myself to do it. Why? Well, I'll tell you. It's that damn Spectabillis and Chai. It's their fault. Ya' see, they're big-time moderators now. So what, I can hear you say? Why not flame pool-boy's pants off, moderators be damned?

Well, I've met them. Yeah, I know, creepy isn't it? It was at that debaucherous Meet & Greet, and they were, of all things, likeable. I've lost the ability to flame at will and not worry about the consequences. It's not just me anymore. They'll have to listen to pool-boy's inevitable whining and I don't want to cause that.

The thrill is gone.

Sensei, you know the old saying.....
"If you give someone enough rope............"

I've taken to this now when something gets to me, I think of the wonderful people I met on the Playa and the great time I had and it just gives me a big smile inside and out and I forget about the pool-boys making me mad.

That probably didn't help you at all.......screw it, let's just drink!!

Sensei,

I totally know how you feel, and Martiansky's comment is right on. I always feel better in the long run when I restrain myself. Also, the person who looses control usually ends up looking like the ass.

I also want you to know that I appreciate your self restraint, and for venting here.

If you'd like to PM me about this issue, please feel free.

Thanks!

I've found that, generally, when I really want to vent something, I wait until the next day. Then after waking to find that I am still alive and no worse off than I was the day before, I figure screw it, I've better things to do after all. If, after getting some sleep, I still feel I must expound at great droning length to whatever tree it is I wish would move, then at least I've had time to be calm and compose something of merit.

Now... this is a bar thread!!!

I’m voting for stay home, but I'm miles from anywhere and what do I know anyway?

It really was pretty much perfect here today. And I had a productive day in the shop and around the house too. I’m in a good space at the moment...

And you too, I presume?

Thanks for the ale. Thinking about art projects. Thinking I might want to do something that moves. Slowly. Very slowly. So slowly that you don't notice it's moving. But bright, so you use it as a reference. But then it has moved.

I'd be going to the Cabooze in Dinkytown to see Wookiefoot.

And I think I'm leaning towards going.

Ahhh... sneaky. I like it. Hidden wheels and drive mechanism? Solar powered, perhaps? That would seem to work for slow moving very well.

Hey Geekster, have you ever seen those models of the solar system that they sometimes have at large parks? Maybe you could do something like that? Set up the solar system model on the open playa and make each planet move on a gps controlled in accordance with the actual planets?

(did you see the lawnmower man on the playa this year?)

You can only go if you wear those cool boots!

I had a productive day too! Got some stuff put away from the deck and started on my coat closet project in the porch, put up itch-a-lation and paneling. I'll finish it tomorrow. I think it's supposed to be nice again. I could definately get used to weather like this all year long!
