Shit, Shit Shit... was all set to work the large rave downtown, when I got the very bad news of what the final amount they were willing to pay. Well, it was 100 bucks for a 12 hour shift, outside, in the rain and the cold. Needless to say I passed. Me, Going out? I don't think so. Why the hell would I go and pay someone $10-12 for something that cost them maybe 75 cents, not to mention the out of control Cover charges at any place nice is minimum $75. Bilking the consumer at everyturn has become a well honed science, I just have to refuse. I mean if you go out as a consumer be ready to be everybody's rube, from the Parking attendent, to

Somebody beer me please I'm here for the night.

I refuse to drive espically during NYs Eve just because of the DUI checkpoints all over the city, there's like five here in Hollywood alone. Alcohol limit is hovering around 2 drinks. Hell, I might drink three beers before I even leave the house. Need I remind you that a 1st offence for a DUI is like $2,500 blah, blah, blah. and they tow your car (ouchie!).

Just thinking of a burningman-esq party out in the desert, with hudreds of my closest friends, over maybe four days. Lots of friendly bar camps and the NY Eve's Burn. Whoa! Dude..... Brain freeze....

And a very Happy New Year over here, too, just as I wished in the New Year thread, even tho I haven't been in here in centuries!

"To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the devil his due."

Directly quoted from "Season Of Mists", a Sandman graphic novel by Neil Gaiman (yes, that's a comic book, for all you literature snobs  ):

Warm wishes and good karma to all of you. Mayhap see you in the desert next year.

Thanks Joel !!

Happy New Year, guys and gals!!!

Sput... Had I known you were drinking up Xingu, I'd have been here with you and Rebbi last night. I just stayed home too. Watching a couple of movies seemed like a good idea to me.

Thanks for the fresh java, Mr. Cat. A big cup and then back out to finish raking the leaves I should have finished in November. Its nice to go outside to play. A moment ago a neighbor brought some cookies and wished me a happy new year . . . she was so always so shy and used to run away when I was talking to her boyfriend . . . I didn't even know she knew my name. Off to a nice start.

As I was driving home I had to smile to myself thinking about how I must look like I’m having a midlife crisis or something going to a Techno-Goth-Industrial Rave or what ever you’d call it at my age and not getting home till 3:30.

No midlife crisis, just a young very persuasive friend.

Sorry to post and run, but I'm going to dinner with my mom. I'll be around later.

Cock scratches through hundreds of pages of bar history

Boo who boo hooo! It'll never be the same again. Oh dear how I miss the old days. 2005 was year of the Rooster - and now it's gone!
But it's good to reflect on the past and cry and create closure. Thanks for helping with that friends. Like LeChat said,
... And like the dew soaks into lawn...
Moments convert to thoughts.

So who we are and who we’ll be
Are formed by things we feel and see
A walking vault of memory...
Homage to life and those held dear.
boo who! Here's to the past and to how green the grass was. May the memories be blessings.

Mozy in his best Patrick Simmons voice.

Well, I built me an art-car and she’s ready for floatin’
black rock city she’s callin’ my name
theme bars are jumpin’
That Art car a thumpin’
black rock city keeps rollin’ on past just the same

Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
black desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Yeah, keep on shinin’ your light
Gonna make everything, playa-mama
Gonna make everything all right
And I ain’t got no worries
’cause I ain’t in no hurry at all

Well, if it rains, I don’t care
Don’t make no difference to me
Just take that art car thats goin’ up town
Yeah, I’d like to hear some funky drum & bass
And dance a honky tonk
And I’ll be gifting’ ev’rybody drinks all ’roun’

Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Old black rock city, keep on rollin’
black desert moon, won’t you keep on shinin’ on me
Yeah, keep on shinin’ your light
Gonna make everything playa-mama
Gonna make everything all right
And I ain’t got no worries
’cause I ain’t in no hurry at all

I’d like to hear some funky drum & bass
playa mama come and take me by the hand
By the hand, take me by the hand playa mama
Come and dance with your daddy all night long
I want to honky tonk, honky tonk, honky tonk
and get funky With you all night long

now thats a beer with a head on it
