I love motorcycles, but was never a hotdog. My first 4 years at Burningman I motorcycled out there. Three times I made arrangements for water, and one year I took EVERYthing...including, but not limited to: 12'x20' shade structure, 8 gals water, 2 framepacks, enough food for 3 weeks, 2 gal gatorade, booze, beer, bicycle, swim fins, tent, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, chair, table, stove, costumes, etc. No, I wasn't on a Goldwing, no trailer, no sidecar, the trip was 850 miles. I've ridden probably 150,000 miles with no serious accidents, and when I was in the Navy, I paid 55 cents for a pack of camels.

A toast to the dumbasses! Hear, hear! And while we're toasting, barflies, I've been hanging out with some Finns (swim Finns?) recently and they have a great holiday coming up that we might consider adopting here, at least within the Bar: http://www.pjhs.piikkio.fi/PROJECTS/Myt ... vappu.html

There's a recipe for mead on the site.

* 3 Lemons
* 8 liters of water
* 1/4 teaspoonfuls of yeast
* 1/2kg of brown sugar
* 1/2kg of sugar
* (1/2 dl of syrup)
* (10 hop's inflorescences)

When bottling:

* 1/2 teaspoonfuls of sugar
* 5 raisins

Production:

Peel and slice lemons. Parboil about 1/2l of the water and pour it over sugar and syrup. Mix until all sugar has dissolved. Add
rest of water and lemon slices and inflorescenes. Now add yeast.

Let it ferment for 24 hours in room temperature.

Strain and bottle it. Add to the bottles haft teaspoonful of sugar and five raisins.

Close bottles, and store them in cool place. The Sima (Lemon drink) is ready after one week. Remember to serve it cold!
It's going to be alright.

I think I need to shut the machine down for 5 minutes of maintenance.
I know that BevMo has everything, probably including mead. I can't find the really fancy beers in my current catalogs, but as I said I'll be acquiring another distributor later into the summer.
