Man, it is just food-porn HEAVEN around here at the moment.Desert Duck wrote:Heli, I'd like to throw this lamb shoulder I've butterflied and rubbed down with pesto on that grill when it's ready. I've had it marinating for three days, should be good about now.

Wow.. hi, back from bellydance class. Can I get a flaming-yet-non-alcoholic drink? (does such a thing exist?)
Koosh - was thinking I'd have to forgo knitting on the playa.. couldn't think of what sort of fibre would survive the dust bath to be anything useable.. otherwise, I generally have knitting with me everywhere I go, to the point of having tweaky wrists and elbows from it :) Why aren't you coming this year??

Hey gang Who’s serving or shale I get my own ,.... maybe wine tonight, got anything in a box no need to waste good wine on me.
knowing a few knitters over the years XTA I’d suggest you bring your knitting along even if you can’t clean it up after spending time in the dust. With out it you’d go into withdrawal and be a pain in the ass for everyone else to deal with,...... course there would probably be a lot of people with suggestions of what to do with your nervous hands, Hmmm

Yeah, I wasn't thinking about bringing anything that wasn't acrylic. Some friends of mine a couple of years ago were finger-knitting (basically, using your hand as a knitting spool) fun-fur boas that they would randomly gift to people as they finished them, which is an idea I LOVE, but I'd be fretting the entire time; I brought two fun-fur scarves with me last year and they never left my tent once I realized they were shedding. I wonder if it'd look okay with eyelash instead of fun fur....Xta_G wrote:Koosh - was thinking I'd have to forgo knitting on the playa.. couldn't think of what sort of fibre would survive the dust bath to be anything useable..
Suffering from a bad case of broke, basically. Hubby's losing his teeth and needs dentures, we're uninsured, yadda yadda yadda.Xta_G wrote:Why aren't you coming this year??

I just became self-employed, which means I now get to pay premiums for Medicare (no, it isn't quite FREE, though I understand it is considerably cheaper than down in the States)... and I got all my dental work done before I left the job. Sad to hear it is keeping you away, but I'm sure we'll share playa another year :)
Zule - one of my plans as a personal gift was to offer hand massages - not quite as huge or intimate as other massages, but something to put me in contact with others, keep my hands busy, and hopefully be a welcome gift... but mebbe I'll bring some knitting, too ;) Figured I'd need some for the journey there and back, but thought it would live in a ziplock for the week..
G'night, Jewel

Oh, you should check out the "V Camp" thread that Xta_G started. She got sniped at and snipped at but she dished it out and took it and won everyone over in the end. I stayed out of it, but it was a great performance. Brava! Brava!

LOL.. yeah, my eyes and freckles are two of the body bits that I've always loved... my eyes are like my mom's, and my sister's are like my dad's, and she and I have the same hair colour which is unlike either of our parents.. and I think that's cool.
So.. alternating the self-sufficient Amazon Bitch from Hell with a girly-girl works? <grin>
And, enough about me.. how about all of you give me a quick "this is me in three sentences or less" introduction/self analysis?
