Rilly? Especially since I won't be doing anything greasy and messy like washing dishes, since I pretty much live on cereal as it is, and can just chug milk out of a carton I somehow manage to keep cold? :)

Are you allowed to tell virgins that they can dump greywater on the playa? What's next, telling me that I can ignore Robbie's warnings about the JOTS? <grin>

Three more dreads, then its time for an update pic :)

It is acceptable for an individual to sprinkle cooler meltoff as dust abatement, just don't dump any contaminated water, anywhere.

Also you should buy some dry ice for your cooler and trip down. freeze everything including milk before leaving and you will still be drinking milk on saturday.

Yeah, I never quite understood that.. dumping water on the playa is bad.. and yet there's a water truck running around the site spraying water on the playa... ?

So.. doing a daily "don't mind us, we're just keeping the dust down" around our mini-camp wouldn't get us reported to... Larry?

And, no, I won't screw with the JOTS.. I read whatever thread it is (FAQ mebbe?) that Robbie was ruling on the dos and don'ts.. and I really appreciate the job she's doing, and wouldn't do a thing to screw them around.

Haven't even started thinking about food logistics yet... I'm really not anything at all that resembles a cook, so it will mostly be ready-to-nibble stuff.. milk honestly is the only thing I buy that goes in the refrigerator that ever gets finished before it goes bad.. I always forget about cheese, yogurt, veggies...

Figured on hitting a grocery store in Reno with whomever I'm travelling with by that time for minimal stuff to get me through a couple days, plus mebbe tetra packs of milk.. simple, eh? Oh, and some grenadine for The Bar, of course :)

When I camp alone I sprinkle a little water ok more than a little I will hug a tree on my way out!
Water trucks spray 4000 gallons every load of pond scum water.
It is not Yosemite valley it is a dry very alkaline dead lakebed so shoot me!

Besides I do not pee on the Playa so we are even... Ok maybe late at night if I am out past the Temple drunk but I didn't say that...

Bring your favorite vitamins take em everyday stay hydrated and you might forget to eat I know I do!

Plan on losing ten pounds too

Good morning folks.

As to the question about sprinkling water around. This was specifically mentioned in a JRS last year. The answer was that it's OK to do this with cooler water and small quantities of strained dishwater (ie, no food chunks). As I recall they suggested a few drops of bleach per gallon to sanitize it. Just don't dump 10 gallons right onto the ground untreated. Treat it and spread it around.
It's going to be alright.
