nevada day parade
In past years I have seen an entry in the Nevada Day Parade that was comprised of Burners. Does anyone know if that will happen this year?

Yep. This from Rogeman:
Burning Man has an entry in the NV Day Parade. BM's
3rd year. The meeting spot is on John St. The meeting
time is between 8:00 AM and 9ish. The Parade starts at
10 am and then we wait our turn to enter the parade.
We have a great time visiting with each other before
the parade and especially during.
Come down to Carson for the parade and also visit with
us. Like usual, your welcome to participate in the
parade as well! Either walk, ride, bike, stilt or
unicycle. You know, burners on parade! All ages, Fun
Fun Fun.
The big Mutant Vehicle positions have been taken.

Burning Man made a big splash in the 2006 Nevada Day Parade. Our triple entry was like a slice of the Black Rock City Esplanade with 60 costumed participants and 7 mutant vehicles, including a tiki bar and a mobile sound system. This event required a lot of preparation and planning, especially since the officials had given us a waver of the parade rules regarding fire & height. It was no small task to pilot a 20-foot tall Victorian House down the main street of Carson City, weaving through intersections to avoid hitting any of the 17-foot high overhead traffic lights. Neverwas Haul came away with two awards; the Parade Chairman's Award and 2nd place for Best Float in the commercially-sponsored division.
And another first for the parade was fire; the Reno-based fire performance group, Controlled Burn, was a crowd pleaser for the 25,000 people who lined the parade route. I might add that last week's issue of the Reno News & Review voted Controlled Burn as the best dance troupe in Northern Nevada. Burning Man was also voted best in a couple of the more edgy categories.

This year's Nevada Day parade was particularly significant in that for the first time in the 68-year history of the parade, the Grand Marshal leading the parade was not a person, but a machine:

On both sides of our lead vehicle, I attached a banner which read: "BURNING MAN -only in NEVADA".
