re-charging batteries...will it run the car battery down?

I'm going to be re-charging batteries pretty much constantly using a car adaptor, i'll probably only have 4 AA of 4 AAA going at a time. Do I have to worry about running the car's battery down?

YES, bring jumper cables---you'll need them! Think of this like leaving your lights in the car on all night. Your battery will run down, but will charge right back up once you jump start the car.
Why not bring extra batteries and charge them when you get back home?What are you running on so many batteries? I find that my batteries last me nearly the full week. I leave my bike lights on all night and never had to change them the entire week.

And you'll be playafying your vehicle from constantly going in and out of it. If it's a rental, then FUCK YOU for trashing a rental and making one more rental car company sorry they ever rented to a burner. If it's your own ride, then you might seriously want to consider getting one of those cool inverter/charger dudes. Home Despot has one for about $80 that charges from either a wall outlet or cigarette lighter (juice it up on your drive in), and stores the charge (several hundred watts of power) inside. It's also got an air compressor and jumper cable hookup, not a bad deal. Yeah, it's $80, but going in and out of your vehicle constantly throughout the week, especially when there's a lot of dust in the air or it's windy, will get playa into every nook and cranny of your car. They say once your car's playafied, it stays that way.

I camped next to people who used their remote locker to lock their car everytime they got in it. This ran their battery down, and it wouldn't start when they tried to leave. I have no idea how much draw the remote takes, nor how much you'd drain the battery using it to recharge your AAAs and AAs. My guess, though, is that the remote would use less.

solar chargers for aa and aaa, we use them all the time. having an extra set helps.

I think I read that you should bring your own charger - especially for camera batteries.
