Negative people not on e-playa!

Do you like negative people? Sometimes I do. They have a habit of making life intersting. Most of the time they feel that the world is the way it should be just for them to complain about.

I have only one other thread posted as DE FACTO so I kinda figure I better make the most of this one while I can.

I'll be as positive as possible.

I like e-playa because, well for one it's BURNINGMAN. The variaty of writers, artists, and engineers here are the best of the best. Most have a great sense of humor and in general it is a great read. I've checked out other burningman related boards/lists and the crowd is somewhat grouchy. They even blasted Mr K. over there for some stupid shit.
As one of the USERS on another board stated about another L.A. board:

I am so sick of all the complaints about "negativity..." I posted something on the LA BBS and what I got in response was "why can't you play nice" and "where's the love?"
Where does it say in the rule book of either life or BM that I have to like everyone? Someone please show me that page.

The last I went to Burningman was 1994 and the UNSPOKEN and SPOKEN philosophy was, everybody can do what ever you want just don't hurt anybody....well they're some that want to.....whatever that's a diffrent story. (velcro is better than rope for lots of reasons.) but everybody was to look out for each other and be honest with each other and all will be fine and fun.

That was in 1994. I have not been back since because I thought that there were so many people that it was overwhelming. so much love.

That was 5000 people ago.
Now at 35,000 plus........I don't know what to think. are these grouchy people the majority of people that is Burningman now?

I really wish someone would put a leash on A2Z. At this point he/she seems to serve no purpose to the community. Bringing up 1-3 year old threads seems to be some form of spam on the board.

We have Paul Addis, who has not attended an event since 1998 come back to torch the man. Why didn't he express his dislike for the theme and event here on Eplaya! Maybe he could have expressed himself in a different way on the playa.

We have a person that has never attended start several threads critize the event is that OK. Hey, that's fine with me.

I didn't attend this year so now you are better then me? does that mean I have nothing to say, no experience to bring forth. I know many people that post here and they haven't been to an event for years. They add much to what has been posted!

Here I have dug up several topic that have as much relevancy to now as ever before. There are several more. Many that I have brought up a few months before, became as or more popular then before! Some are great Reflection of every argument currently being discussed NOW! How many, "What did you learn this year at BM" do we need? David Best? He's a topic once again.

This year I met Sputnik, MozyBones, Joel the Onery, and others; we all cruised on the Playa Cruiser, watched the burns, and had a great time. Joel even camped right next to me. Mozy gave me some very fine booze.
I met LeChat Noir, saw his "Contraption", loved it, had him take the helm of the Playa Cruiser and take his camp mates for an art tour.
I had Unjon Harley onboard, I had plenty of eplaya people come out and play. EVERY one of 'em were good people. None of these people "made a spectacle" of themselves.
If you have so much interest in the BM crowd, what's with the "stealthy" biz?

before I went to Burningman, I was always busy but I always made it to CACOPHONY. I was always busy and just didn't have time.

I wanted to go this year and planned so as last year, but like last year, suddenly I am in another amazing place at the time I want to go to the playa.

not gonna ask if you want an example of what i speak, I'm running several hours ahead of you and it is late here.
on tribe on most of my tribes they understand what is going on and what has been going on for the past few years with me.

I met sooooo many Burners the past few years including Ring O' fire and Alice and few others and have sent or help create a few burners to the playa and some have burner baybies now that I have watched grow.but, just cant help my situations when it comes to that time of year so many yeas as in the past.
I'll get to meet most of eplaya one day soon.

never seems to work though. They get upset with me having a good time while I'm having a good time about them having a bad time about my having a good time.

Badger / Isotopia, clean up your own ass and accounts before asking people to wipe theirs or just keep your mouth shut on the topic and focus on the other things you do so damn well.

Beyond that, last I checked the board existed to serve a community....a community that includes former, present, and future participants. Who has been given the right to discriminate against anyone based on their participation level, or lack thereof? What's next, will people be slamming Fishy because she couldn't attend the event this year? Judging from how this conversation is going it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Perhaps what this thread needs is a nice, temporary moderator lockdown to keep things in check. That may not be the answer but what's happening in here is bullshit, and everyone should be able to smell it and want to sidestep it.

Negativity is good sometimes. When someone says they are going to float down Niagara Falls on their raft made of marshmallows, being negative might save their life. Also giving counter opinions brings up questions and forces people to work harder to make sure they have all angels covered. It's especially important in the engineering world, where you want to make sure you have everything right so people do not get killed. Many negative opinions means that you double check all of those aspects and can back them up with engineering data.
