Thanks for the kind words lonestoner916
I had a lot of fun doing it.
I'm interested in seeing what kind of paper it gets printed on.
I saw some paper that had fibers in it at the art store... it might look really cool to print it on that... or on a parchment paper.
Here's the link to the FREE money again for all those who are interested.

I like neck or back rubs.
How about hair braiding. I would love that one.
Nail polishing... or vinegar foot baths...
I give out candy each year. Especially on the playa. People need extra energy.
I have some special plans for this year. he he he

I'll try to have lots of them printed for the Playa, to give to people
once they completed immigration procedures at Checkpoint Dreamyourtopia.

Thanks BitterDan!
I'm finding that the only time that I get a chance to do FUN creative art now is when I'm doing something BM related.
It's kind of funny... when I earned money with my accordion, I was doing art for fun.
Now that I do art of a living, I play my accordion for fun.
One of the things that I love about BM is that I get to do both and it's ALL fun.

I would suggest slicing some pieces of pepperoni and adding the slices as an accent to the cans.hsdavis wrote:I am considering putting lanyards on cans of sardines to gift unique necklaces. They're fun, stylish, practical and most of all delicious. Besides, who doesn't like sardines?

Pepperoni is a great idea. Last year I gave out Spam on a rope. It seemed to be a welcome gift, but it attracted a lot of dust!accordionMan wrote:I would suggest slicing some pieces of pepperoni and adding the slices as an accent to the cans.hsdavis wrote:I am considering putting lanyards on cans of sardines to gift unique necklaces. Okay I just thought of this while sitting with my daughter while she made her first necklace (she is 3 years old).
I am making necklaces and giving them out as gifts. I am now thinking of letting my daughter help me make some necklaces. At least 10 maybe more and gifting those to people that have really made my burn something special. Now mind you these will be made by letting her pick out all of the beads from a very large collection. So they may not be the most visually appealing pieces of jewelry but they will mean a lot to me. Does this seem like a good idea or a bad idea? Would people appreciate it or would they go wow..ugh then I would have to worry about them becoming MOOP?

Some people will love it, others wont. Give them the story. If they've made your burn special you have a few moments to explain and figure out if that's what they want.

ragabashpup said "I am making necklaces and giving them out as gifts. I am now thinking of letting my daughter help me make some necklaces..."I think that's a fantastic idea! For sure let them know your little one did the work, and moreso, maybe even see about getting a pic of them holding or wearing them to show daughter when get back and how happy her art made others. I bought a small, cheap plastic cloud necklace (that splits into a rainbow) from neighbor's kid before headed out. Gave it to a friend who see every year out there. They loved it. It's all in the sincerity and intention of the gift, not the monetary plus or minus

See!? Hell! I can even quote myself! Bandana's have been good gifts before. Get blanks at any shop spot, and you can personalize/print on them using Dark Iron-On Transfer sheets ran through your printer, or you can draw on them with Sharpie's, then use an iron to apply. (do not use White Iron-on-they are shite and have to be reversed images to be applied). Are great for decoration (neck, tie on arm/ leg) and have many functional purposes (good back up breathing mask, hot stuff, spills, imagination, etc.CLARKcon wrote:edited because the quote brackets are giving me a stroke! One of my favorite gifts from '04 happened at the inflatable anemonie. We had been exploring all morning and were taking a break in the shade of the anemonie when this guy pops up from nowhere and asks us if we'd like some chocolate. SURE! we say and he produces these little squares of ice cold AMAZING chocolate from a refrigerated shoulder bag.
That little square of chocolate given during the heat of the day out in the middle of the playa is something I'll never forget.
My favorite was a gift I gave that became a huge surprise gift for me!
I designed a large letter style postcard in '04 for gifting. (so many people forget about the post office) Photoshoped it up with much help from my wonderfull wife and had 1000 printed up. I think we gave about half to the post office and a stack to Lady Bee for the staffers that couldn't attend. My wife discovered just a few weeks ago that it ended up in "The Burning Book"!!! (page 90) I was completely floored. I'll be making a new one for this years burn.

One of my favorite gifts EVER was a pressed copper penny that I was given in 2001.
It has a cool BM icon embossed on it with the words Burning Man 2001 framing it. I wear a copper bracelet so I used some copper epoxy and glued it to the center of my bracelet. The copper from the penny has worn off revealing the zinc, still looks great.
Another year I got a zinc(?) one... no date on it so I affixed it to my accordion. Very cool.
Any one know who made them?

Copper trinkets made using a penny for a blank should use older
pennies (20-30 yrs? -someone knows) which are copper without
zinc inside.
I noted this when making a nametag for out cat using a penny.
I hear even the copper clad zinc ones now cost more than 1 cent
to make.

If your Lincoln Memorial penny has a date before 1982, it is made of 95% copper. If the date is 1983 or later, it is made of 97.5% zinc, with a thin copper coating, or "clad."skibear wrote:Copper trinkets made using a penny for a blank should use older

During WW2 pennies were made of steel to save the copper for the war effort.

Crap. I am getting old. 1980 is my rule, becuase I was never sure if it was 81 or 82, so I adopted the easy zero standard,
No longer enough, apparently.

Steel cents (zinc coated) were minted only in 1943.

In 2004, COFFEE CAMP members starting making SLAVE TOKENS (plastic chips one year, metal another) with different denominations on them. CEPT'- the numbered quanities were valid for purchase the most precious of possessions--- TIME & FREE WILL. Would gift the tokens with minutes (1, 5, 10, and a special black question mark one) if saw someone doing an unselfish act for another. The possesser trades them in to the member to become a slave (within reason/comfortability). I remember doing all sorts of fun stuff (and chores
) that would not have been ensued without them. Help set up tent, wash some dishes, foot rubs, someone to talk to, etc. 07' we flipped over to a paper currency. Now if I could just figure out a credit card/ATM servicing system

Thanks accordionMan
It would have to be some sort of cheap electronic device for adding/deducting payment. Or could just put the card inside of a wallet slip with transaction record pad- even another thought- have the minutes on the plastic card and have a hole-puncher to subtract
