Happy times Existential Isis! Now that you got your tick, you can start making/aquiring rad stuff to bring out
(I just ordered last week--have been waiting to have tick in hand before b u i l d i n g stuff.) The Lamplighters are way cool. Light up/lanterns on the Esplanade and the 3/9'Oclocks walkways. Without those markers, it would be a little more confusinig to navaigate the open side of the arc. Tent (especially if just one person): get a three person sized tent. Easiest design in the world. Two long poles that make "X" design. Presto! Tent's done

2023 // 7:30 & "G" Plaza :.Hi ExisIsis!
This will be my second time on the playa. I have been lurking here for a little. Trying to get enough time off work to make it before Wed. Husband and I are hauling our 62 Winnie.
So excited! We leave home about midnite, stop at Denny's for breakfast, and arrive at sunup. Watch the playa wake up and it is the coolest part of the day to set up. Then we sleep til dark - thirty and hang all night.
There's no place like home.

I've been to Vermont one time and had real maple syrup & maple syrup candy. After seeing how thick & dark the real stuff is, I felt like I had been l i e d to my whole life with the stuff (sugar cornstarch artificial mapleine) you get in the stores...next, I'll probably hear that Santa Claus isn't real

I can't complain. I've been to the states more times in the past year than I had been in the past 10 combined.gyre wrote:97-98% and not going in our direction either.

If we win, we're keeping the whole West Coast. Well...we could do without Washington, but what the heck?gyre wrote:Maybe the us should invade Canada?
We haven't won a war in a while and you never know, we might win?
That might cheer everyone up a bit.
And if we lose, we get health care!

Haha, no not necessarily. I've spent time in other places in Washington, including Seattle. The last time I was in Seattle it rubbed me the wrong way...Guess I'm still feeling a bit biased from that.Sensei wrote:Gee, let me guess... You're from Nelson and you think all of Washington is like Spokane, right? Puh-lease. I'm betting you've never seen Seattle, or at least never spent any meaningful amount of time here. Your loss.britzbitz wrote: Well...we could do without Washington, but what the heck?

Hey Now don't be talking trash about my City...
I was born and raised in Seattle.
Come to think of it- I moved AS SOOn as I was old enough.
THe Northwest corridor of Burning man is from 8-9:30 outside ring second to last ring.
or so it seems -last year all the plates on the cars in that area were from Washington, Oregon or Canada.

Hey All,
Im STACK, I wish I could make it this year, but alas, my BRC cherry will be popped in 09. I cant wait to go and let go of reality and really be myself for a few days. I will be driving from the east coast, hopefully not by myself. Hoping to stay at the DOTA rocks camp and fly lots of kites, see old friends and make a lot of new ones. How is everything here?

buy the ticket take the ride
Hello all. Coming over from oztraylia this year to see the burning man with an old friend. We were always going to be going - do a bit of a fear and loathing type trip - but someone told my friend about this Burning man thingie that would be on when we'd be in the US (he sold it to me as this 'crazy hippy kinda thing that's really hard to describe').
I looked up the site for 5 minutes and it looked great so i immediately bought the tickets over the net . Since then i’ve spent a bit more time reading about BM and it's going to need a lot more prep and thought than i initially anticipated. I am freeking a little about the logistics of sourcing everything I need in a week and actually getting there etc...but it will all be okay on the day.
I can't wait. Apart from the art and the mind expansion and the variety of people all together... i am also keen to see the whole 'gifting' concept in action and how a community of 35,000 people can pop up in the middle of the desert, function effectively for a week and then disappear without a trace. It seems to have become the sole focus of the trip. I haven't even thought about what to do for the other 3 weeks yet :)
Stats: male, 32, first-timer.

Welcome aiao!
I know the trip may seem alittle perilous, but will be worth it many times over on many different levels. Imagine hi-fiving 50,000 of your friends that you never knew you had. Imagine feeling depths of yourself you never knew were present. Imagine a week of pure e n e r g y. It's an interesting note, as well, to see how things shift as the days go on from Monday to Monday (take a before and after picture with a Polaroid or write a poem on Thursday of the week. Enjoy mate
