Where to get water.

Where is the closest place to the playa to fill up large water jugs (35 and 50 gallon). I know your not supposed to do it in Gerlach or Empire or anywhere else in the middle of nowhere but whats up with Reno or Sparks where should I go? Does any one know of a good convenient spot?
