Better than Christmas

Post by Ninth Path » Fri Aug 15, 2008 8:22 am

It's better than Christmas...when I was a kid I could never sleep on Christmas Eve because of all the excitement.
It's still eight days until I begin my trek, and I ALREADY can't sleep!

I have so much shit left to do this week. I should be stressed out, but I'm too happy to stress.

It's all I think about. My place is a mess with burner stuff. I'm spending too much money on last minute things I just "have to have" for the burn.
I spent the entire day shopping and building our evap pond. I am going crazy. This is all normal of course.

Sluggards!

Everything's done here...got the bikes, snack foods, water, tp (single-ply, of course)coolers, beer, tequila, costumes, bedding, swag, shelter...all packed and neatly labeled...just have to cram it all into the RV which isn't here yet...small inconvenience, that.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

I suppose you always did your school essays a week before they were due too.

6 days and counting!
My place is still a mess with playa dusted milk crates, duffel bag, fake fur. I have a small tarp in front of my TV where I've been using night glow paints to repaint my famous "Gig Bag" and also some sneakers and a fanny pack.
Arrowhead will deliver my 20 gallons of water tomorrow.

THEN...
Downstairs is the 1978 Ford Econoline Van we bought for $500.00 JUST for the burn. My G/F has dubbed it "The Green Machine". Turns out the state of CA will pay me $600.00 to take it off the road so it's pretty much a wash.
Anyway it is filled with STUFF, The shade structure, the evap pond, all home made from scratch. Tools, El-Wire, Toys, Carpet, comfy chair, tents, and on and on.
One year I'm gonna go minimalist (I keep telling myself)
Naaaaaa, who am I kidding.
