Democratic Convention Coverage Anyone?

Post by jasonberlin » Tue Aug 19, 2008 6:05 pm

Has anyone heard of a camp that will have internet or TV access to the Democratic Convention in Denver? As a flaming liberal, I need to watch it! I searched the directory, but couldn't find anything...

Thanks,
Jason

There are going to be 1000's of satellite radios and tv's out there, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something... but why bother? These things are generally full of overscripted tripe, and although I'm sure B.O. will give a great speech, it'll be just as good on youtube when you get back.

I'll save ya the time by telling you in advance.

Barack is your next president, this was decided in smoke filled rooms before the Primary even started. When some nutjob caps his ass it will create the perfect battlkeground for superfluous population to be terminated. After some bloodshed on the streets in the form of riots martial law will be declared and anyone smart will already be beggin someone off the grid to take em in batering and goods or skillsets they manage to have to bargain with.

Than in 2012 I hear the world is going to end.. but thats not 100 percent yet.. still staring at the crystal ball.

PS If you wanna save yourself the guilt vote Libertarian or Green. That way you can blame everyone else for problems.

It's my understanding that when B.O gives his acceptance speech in the outdoor stadium in Denver - we will be able to hear the roar of the crowd as the sound travels through the valleys of the Rockies and makes its way across the Nevada desert. Of course on Saturday night - enough noise will be made in BRC, that Denver will think it is an echo....

(serious sarcasm implied)

If the rumour of WIFI is true at and in/around the center pole of Center Camp (might have to scale the center pole itself a little) - a laptop getting net access might be worth a try. Most likely the speech be carried "live" and delayed (youtube) on the Internets

While you devote your time to that qwest - the rest of us will be chasing the spirit that is burningman - not worrying about the default world (thank goodness for TiVo).

Why is it that I think saddling up on my bike, driving around and tossing a bowl of my grey water oatmeal on your tellie screen is a good idea for the other 49,950 people who could give a fuck?

Don't know why you think that, Badger.

I think it's pretty important myself.

Maybe you should rethink your vacation plans then.

LMAO
That is just about what my wife did to me many years ago, when I spent just WAY TO much time talking politics on the playa.

Just one week a year she doesn't want to hear it, and that one week a year neither do I now.

LOL, she threatened to leave me home.

If enough ppl try one of em will wind up getting and antenna hooked up. They will scold you though for trying to climb. They can't really do shit though since BM doesn't have any rules. Just say you were doing performance art or something. Make sure its late and theres a diversion in place.. like some cool fireworks flame effects or an eclipse.
