FLAME EFFECT INSURANCE

Been looking at a doing a non public show on private property, where the city fire marshall may require insurance for operation of a flame effect appliance.

Performers of the U.S. which insures clowns; fire artists...spinners, staff/poi,etc.; sez NO WAY!!...

Ideas?? other than go naked (uninsured)

google "event insurance" and you will find companies that offer 1 day special event insurance. good luck

In a private event on private property, my experience has shown that this is at the discretion of the landowner.

Talked to city fire Marshall....No Problem on private RESIDENTIAL property, but "may" need a noise variance...... Also deferred to state fire marshall.

Fire inspector was thinking possible "pyro" permit because of no familiarity with definition of "special effect" which is a special configuration of fireworks, not flame effect.

Also deferred to state fire marshall. Oregon definition of fireworks is "composition or substance or any article providing a visible or audible effect by combustion, etc.... WA is similar....

NFPA 1126 - fireworks/pyrotechnics,; specifically excludes gaseous or liquid fuels

a conundrum...

If they do use NFPA vs. UFC, there is a whole section of NFPA that deals with flame effects before an audience and is custom designed for your very needs:
