I am making some wonderful Bloody mary's on Saturday to toast to the Blue angels that are playing in my back yard for the next 4 days!!!
Yesterday...they took my breath away, no really...they really ARE in our back yard!

They came up over our lil' hill yesterday...say 50 ft max away from terra firma, swooped down into our back yard and appeared to bank off our ROOF!

The windows shook in their frames the whole house rattled!!!

My step dad, R.I.P., was chief engineer for plane #3. So this means lots to me!

And hell ...their just exciting to friggin watch!

The Blue Angels rock. I used to live in Annapolis and they do at least one show there a year for midshipmen's graduation. They practice the week before.

They come down over this one creek and it seems like you can touch them - they are REALLY close to the water - maybe height of roof of a 2 story house. One year I saw someone (who must have been a tourist) totally FREAK out and run behind a tree and then fell to the ground covering their head thinking that they we were being bombed. I feel bad to this day laughing about it, but even typing this, I'm giggling.

don't hate me because i married into it....

i was one of two "Ethnic types" there.....i spotted the other immediately one day at one of their ritualistic group behaviors.

i think it was a corn roast parade cotillion or something.

we nodded a subtle acknowledgment that we indeed were strangers in a strange land.

had to get security clearance from the FBI just to go to lunch in the clubhouse.

nice watercress sandwiches though, it was worth the anal probe.

my kids all adopted my wife's maiden name during the summer months, it was just easier that way...

very different burn for me this year, and, very very fun........and, now that I've volunteered with PGE, well, I'll be doin more of that next year.........sure changes ones perspective........

Still on the road and living in playa dust every day. Least til I can stop and get some laundry done!

I'm having a good trip so far. Very healing.

GH had chest problems - suspected as heart troubles. Piney, you and he need to be looking after yourselves. Scaring the heck outta the rest of us.

Hey, I meant to say I loved the Playa Frog! Very sweet art car. Made me think I should do one some year. Although all the work you guys put into it for the last month ahead of the burn makes me wonder how I could do that from a distance.

did anyone notice, I think it was the fireworks at the rocket launch..........a "plasma" effect of color during the show?..........
none of my friends here locally seem to remember seeing, IIRC red and green, "plasma" in the air, when some of them exploded.......like a glowing colored gas cloud......

Just wonderin if someone put something "extra" in my drink.......

It's Monday.
Hopefully get my Mom's husband out of the hospital today.

Just realized this morning I am HOME for the first time in about a month.
and even though I will have some driving to do today I get to sleep in my own bed again tonight.
