You can take a man off the playa, but you can't take the playa off his stuff.

There was a pair of socks that released even more epic billows of dust, but I didn't manage to capture those on video.

I consider it peformance art. A battle against the futility of purifying one's self from past experiences. I will waste large amounts of time(and bleach) in a futile attempt to recover from the debauchery of burning man......or maybe I'm just curious if it CAN be cleaned.

Somehow diluted vinegar water helped with the material stuff, spray bottle and in the laundry machine. But under your skin, in your heart/soul.....yep, forever.

My stepdaughter just got a rude awakening about what playa dust is. I unloaded the truck and she grabbed the laundry bags to sort and wash. And like always she starts to dump the bags only this time when she pours the clothes out she gets covered in a HUGE cloud of playa dust. At first she's shocked but then the whole house busted out laughing...we forgot to warn her about how bad it gets on everything especially people. She had to take a second shower to get clean again but the look on her face when that cloud of dust exploded was priceless!

Dang it, I wish I taped it. This was my first burn.
Monday afternoon I walked into the garage and saw my truck...UGGGHH!...backed it into the driveway, got out the blue car wash stuff. Filled the bucket, hosed off my truck, soaped it up, rinsed it off..I did this twice. The truck just looked like I swirled the mud around, by this time it was hot out and I gave up. Yesterday, I took it through the car wash, went to the vacuums, vacuumed, windex'd, washed the entire interior, interior looks great! Exterior still looked like swirled mud. So 4th trip through the car wash, now it looks like I just did some 4 wheelin', which is what it normally looks like. Anyhoo, after it's 4th wash I headed over to Kragen to buy a new air filter. It began to get kind of hot, turned on my A/C and ::poof:: like a nuclear cloud a huge puff of dust coated my nice clean interior. ::sigh:: I've just become "one and accepting" with the dust!

You saw how I just rolled up the tent when we packed up without cleaning the inside. Tomorrow I'll attempt to unroll, set up, vacuum the inside and hose down the inside and outside. If the zippers are fixable, this is becoming my Burner tent. I will somehow seal off the mesh vents permanently. Got to get ready for next year!
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Hanging them out on a clothesline on a windy day might be less wear and tear on the clothes. Then just take them to a landromat.

There's still a shitload of dust around here I'm afraid. But there's really nothing to be afraid of, it's just fucking playa dust after all. I mean, we're all just made of that stuff. And that stuff isn't what most people think it is. At least, not what they think it is right now.

Oh, and sorry for everything. It wasn't my fault until it was.

By the way, nothing is dangerous but it is if you want it to be.

Where was I going? I think someone is coming by soon. But I think I know who it is. I am.
