Looking for BRC Stickers

Post by benway » Tue Aug 16, 2005 10:40 pm

Hi, folks....well, I finally got a new truck. It's a white diesel suburban. It's totally anoymous, in massive contrast to my old land cruiser, which was covered in all kinds of burning man and grateful dead stickers.

I was wondering if anyone out there had one of those BRC stickers -- you know, the oval kind that say BRC in the middle -- that I could slap onto the new truck so it wasn't so totally anonymous.

Thanks!

Sorry I don't have stickers, but I do have a tip for when you acquire a few. Get the magnetic "make your own bumpersticker" strips (office suply stores or Northern Sun sell them). They're sticky on one side, flexible magnetic. Stick your stickers to one of those (or two if the sticker is too wide) and trim the edges. Larry has the BRC oval and I fixed it up that way; it has been all over the country on his semi's door. The magnet is good enough to hang on through the big commercial truck washes.

This assumes you aren't driving a plastic car.

I'll be saying good-bye to my Burning Man window decals when I sell the jeep. wah!

Have stickers...somewhere

Post by Flirty » Thu Aug 18, 2005 8:43 am

Hey, Benway. My friend Dragon made those stickers and gave me a stack, which I passed out to as many campmates I could find at the time. I know I have a few left, if I can only find them somewhere in my now-looking-like-a-bomb-went-off bedroom!

Email me offline to give me your mailing address and I'll send you one or two.

My old workmates and I got A LOT of laugh mileage out of making magnetic bumper stickers...People'd come out to go to lunch, only to find a "Pink Pussycat Adult Bookstore" or "Farmer Friday's Haunted Barn" sticker on their new car, and promptly wig out......

The place for stickers this year will be "Brain Freeze/Got Stickers Camp". We will be on the back side of Illumination Village. We will be hosting a sticker exchange. If you don't have a few to trade, just help yourself from the existing supply. We will be "seeding" the pool with 2000 stickers from the Flaming Lotus Girls and their 06' project "The Serpent Mother". Why Brain Freeze you ask? Glad you asked. We will be serving frozen Margaritas every evening from our slushy machine. (Twenty one and older, naturally).

Ive got the same problem but like different..

Post by Alchemy » Fri Jul 14, 2006 1:26 am

Ive been going to the Nevada burns every year for 6 years..my rear window of my 1992 maroon crysler new yorker was a testmony to its swag stickahs of entry as was the bumber a loving connection to Lotus Girls ,Bike Kitchen ,and several theme camps I experianced like a fine wine. :D
Last November,my playa husbands progressive mental issues, and less than atentive driving skills rendered my car a candidate for a fix it ticket by any cop "board enough "to notice. I skillfully have avoided the trappings
of the government and all the fees and fines by driving with out a licence for 21 years, but still maintained and owned an insured vehicle{ picture a posted gif of the finger here...}
go ahead ask me how...
 ANYWAY...lonnnnnnfg story and scenic tour avoided...Physco fucked up the invisible car and John Law saw fit to confiscate my ownly form of transportation over the Thankless giving weekend whilest I was returning from picking up m'child support.
To bail it out was more than the car was worth ,and the same as buying a less destroyed car..altho that never manifested. All I wanted to retreive from"The Battle Hammer"( my cars was named this, but I prefered Ol'Cunt"
was the back window with its 5 stickers from the previous years Annnnd my ticket stubs from last years burn...They auctioned off my car before
the time limit to bail it! :x
Not only do I need to replace my trophy window stickers..but I am looking for a functional jeep or 5 seater with some power or fucking anything that will not die soon; to put these treasures upon. So if you get extras or have extras or a vehicle in the Bay Area...let me know!
Ive got an extra BRC sticker and one extra from last year...Need them? :s :D

I was the one with the bright idea to sticker smy stickers on magnets, well, it worked for the most part until my sister-in-law borrowed the trailblazer to chaffeur her son to a dance, and decided to be nice and wash it ... she power-washed off my Inner Child Honor Student sticker.

Bint.

And we had a BRC on larry's semi, but the truckwash detergeetns made the magnet adhere rather permanently to the finish and we've been peeling ot off in bits. Sigh.

I'd like any stickers...I came home from the playa empty-handed, as far as tangible "gifts."

Which serve as amulets and talismen in my Reality, so it was disppointing for me.

I don't know if Dustdevel will be at decomp tomorrow, but if he is, he might have stickers to give out.

If you're a bay area type personage, that is.

I DID get an AWESOME pin that said:

Fuck radical self-inclusion. You're a douche.

I didn't leave my tent without it.

The way to remove stickers in one piece is a heat gun... a hair dryer will usually work if you have patience and really heat it up. The heat softens the glue. Paper stickers are sometimes next to impossible to remove intact.

I've always been a sticker hoarder; when I get a really cool one it always ends up carefully preserved in a drawer rather than stuck on something where it will inevitably get destroyed. As time rolls on I'm starting to see the error of my ways. A cool sticker is worthless if nobody sees it.

Do the magnetic sheet thing, but stick the result on your fridge. That way at least you and your visitors will see them.

I just got a new truck too!

I got an oval BRC sticker thing from Cafe Press. I think it's an actual airport code for some other place, but it works.

Was only a few dollars and got here fast :D

Look at that, you even have your choice in colors.

This year was my first burn and I was so excited to open my bag and go through the couple of things I brought back. I was so bummed when I couldn't find my "Pimp or Die" sticker from the nice folks at Bioluminatti. (I hope I spelled that right) That and my "Flaming Lotus Girls" stickers were all I brought back. Anyhow, I didn't understand the whole gifting thing and didn't bring anything. I know it's a gift, but I still felt like a tool for not having anything. That and I didn't dress up either. Next year... Anyhow, thanks for posting the link to the BRC stickers.
Merci, Cedric. Remind me, we'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I did'nt know Chevrolet still put diesels in Suburbans. Thats good to know.
www.makestickers.com For a few dollars you can have just about any sticker printed including the oval ones. Course, the more you get, the cheaper they are, as far as the price goes.
