Just the iron blade scope that was on the original issue rifle. No special scopes were allowed in that competition.

When I was 19, I was pretty much not doing anything with my life.

I grew up in a household led by an anglophile. Oscar Wilde and James MacNeil Whistler were regarded as heroes. At 19 I was frantically trying to forget all the tricks I'd been learning since I was 10.

(and I used to wonder why I had no friends in school.)

I can empathize. I had no time to make friends in school - as the oldest of seven, I was a serf before my time and had to rush home to make supper for nine people.

Besides which I was the butt of many a bully's jokes and fists since my parents wrote the local weekly newspaper. In a town of 1200, you can get on the wrong side of most of them in one year.

All that learning though has made you a pretty sharp cookie.

i can also empathize .... and i am still trying to unlearn family tricks .... ha ha ha good luck, eh? it's easier to unlearn anglophile stuff and keep your wit, than catholic philosophy stuff.

and i still don't do well with popular cliquey types .... i was in the weirdo artsy-fartsy camp!

high school was hell for some of us, wasn't it.

i'll always be jealous of the fishy wit.

And I'll be slightly jelous of just how weird ex-Catholics are. (John Waters and Bunuel, for example, being heroes of mine.) But have to admit that I probably got the better end of the deal, so I'll just shut up now.

In my late 30's, I listened to Rush and FoxNews every day, and voted a straight Rep. ticket. I watched all you "hippies" make your annual trek to the desert, and thought you were a bunch of Fuckin' weirdos.........

Oh, I miss the rib cook off and I've never been. In some way my perfect trifecta might be accordion festival/burningman/rib cook off.

I'm referred to as the "executioner" behind my back in the office. Last week I laid off 22 people.

Curious--one of my sisters would consider that too much sleep! She gets about 1 or 2 hours per night max.

No, Cleveland. Her twin sister need a full eight. It made it pretty hard for my nephew to ever sneak in late.

Artemis, must be tough to be on that side of the equation. Being a caring person and all, to have to lay people off. Can't say I envy you.

More evidence to support my theory that 007 has some weird body modifications involved with his hand/finger. Apparently, his thumb is a thumb drive.

While of course it is much more difficult getting a kick in the ass, it's surprisingly difficult to kick someone when you know how much it'll hurt them.

Reading up on the hostility and invisibility threads just now though, I was inclined to kick away with abandon.

Yay! Glad to feel welcome, which is part of what confuses me why posters complain about how unwelcoming eplaya can be. I guess I've just have thick skin on my ass.

There are plenty of folks on here that I've never met for which I feel a deep affection. It 's odd to me how others see so much hostility. Ah well.

Now back on topic: what don't you know about me? I was born in Texas!
