I think the NEB knows what you need and provides it for you.

All hail the NEB.

I've discovered that root beer mixes well with pina coladas, for a little extra zip.
Or is this already a thing?

We're looking at a weekend of scattered showers for our regional. Last year was miserable, I hope this year is an improvement.

I was up at 3:30 this morning to get ready for work.
Now I have to try and stay up til at least 2:30 cuz we're going on nights
for the rest of the week. Five PM to 3:30 am
I think at midnight I'll make some popcorn, drink a can of coke and watch The Sound of Music

Good morning everybody! What am I doing up so early? How did that happen? Well, I'll make the most of it. Anybody for breakfast? I've got coffee, bacon, and the first local strawberries of the season.

Off on a tangent, I've always wondered what a 'rasher' of bacon is. (here I go all pedantic again) Turns out it's just a british word for "slice of bacon". Wikipedia say:
United Kingdom and Ireland
Grilled or fried bacon are included in the traditional full breakfast. An individual slice of bacon is a rasher
Suddenly it intrigues me that bacon really deserves its own special vocabulary to describe its bacony goodness, like they say eskimos have eleventeen words for snow.

I looked for a picture with bacon, coffee, and strawberries and the best I could find was this abomination (you may want to avert your eyes)

I think rasher is slang for ration, leftover from ww2.

*wanders in*

Hi all,
wow, breakfast is ready, thanks.............
*grabs coffee, and bacon wrapped strawberries*

yeah Misa, good idea to get "acclimated" towards time on the playa.
It can be brutally hot and dry, and, I'd imagine, your country has no weather to compare.

Thanks, Misa Blue, usually on the playa I've tried bribing with just bacon.

I'm the one standing next to an all-white utility van saying,

"Hey, little girl, want some bacon?"

but that just sounds creepy by itself. Strawberries would be much better. I'll bring some fresh and some frozen.

Figjam, you ARE good, but in this case... wrong.

rasher
"thin slice of bacon or ham," 1592, of unknown origin. Perhaps from M.E. rash "to cut," var. of rase "to rub, scrape out, erase," from O.Fr. raser (see raze). However, early lexicographer John Minsheu explained it in 1627 as a piece "rashly or hastily roasted."

Did I say pedantic? Actually I was thinking it might be from 'ration' too, but your post prompted me to go look it up.

I stand corrected sir. It just sounded so logical that I LEPT reclessly to my conclusion. Maybe I can take my logic over to that new tread and see if I can make dvds head explode. 8)

Morning, all. Thanks for a great "brekie" Swampdog, Gummi Bacon, not so much. Bacon wrapped strawberries sound like an intriguing combo, LF, pass some over here Lets get Misa off the roof and get her to join us in the NEB for a spell Where did YG go?

Tomorrow night we have another Artery meeting. I've seen pictures and writeups of the art projects that have received Burning Man Honoraria and most are quite striking. We are all in for a real treat this year. Make sure you all take an art tour on an art car that the Artery runs on Tuesday through Friday at about 11AM. Capacity depends upon the number of volunteer art vehicles we have at the time of each tour. Check in at the Artery for specific info and tickets (no cost of course). Tell them magic marty sent you. .... Getting excited!!!

Hug time, LF
