Burning Man Art Car Frame

Post by dkoronakos » Thu Jul 22, 2010 7:41 am

I created a custom welded vehicle for last year's Burning Man.
This was made using steel and go-kart parts, with solar cells
on top, batteries hanging on the sides, an electric motor,
and drive electronics.

I am building a new vehicle, reusing the solar cells, batteries,
motor, and drive electronics. So I am gifting just the old
steel frame and attached go-kart parts (wheels, axles, bearings,
steering column/rods, and disc brakes -- I am *not* gifting
the solar cells, the electric motor, the batteries, or the drive
electronics -- sorry !!!).

The basic frame is sound - you could turn it into a new Burning
Man vehicle if you add a pedal crank, or a new motor (and
batteries/solar if you want to make it electric).

The attached photos were taken *before* I removed the solar
cells, batteries, motor and electronics. I am giving away
everything shown in the photos except those items and the
wooden seat/platform. I'm gifting just the white steel
frame and attached go-kart parts.

If you're interested in taking the frame/go-kart parts, let me
know. I would love it if someone could use the frame to jump
start their own playa vehicle project...

Yeehah! That just might be perfect for mounting my Mobile Grand Piano on. Wouldn't get done this year, but don't throw that thing away!
