Have 40ft Motorhome, looking for (2) companions

Post by markquest » Tue Aug 10, 2010 6:10 pm

I am going to the "Burn", my first time. I have a beautiful 40ft Motor Coach that is self contained. I am looking for (2) really cool people to share the expenses, to go to the event. I will be leaving from the Palm Springs area on August 29, 2010 and return on Sept 6, 2010. If you are looking for a way to enjoy the event in comfort, ( you will have your own bed, hot shower, toilet, and AIR CONDITIONING! Contact me as soon as you can and we can discuss.

Plan on parking in the outer rings(roads) if your not in by Tuesday. 40'er is hard to park and will kick up LOTs of dust while idling down the dusty roads. Be kind and don't think you can make the corner... Also if you pull in with neighbors, they might not like you running your gennie 24 hours a day. Also us RVers get taken for an easy rip-off during the week. I'd say I get the shake down 1-2 times a day, but with our campmates and getting to be really good neighbors with all around, we only lose 1 or 2 small items..

Fucking Dreads thought they were sneaky with a camper sleeping on the couch right after we all headed out. He saw them and let them start going through shit and he spooked them good. The Dreads that fell out while the shit themselves, were tossed into the burn barrel.. Some of you might have smelled them... sorry....

Can't you lock those things?????

And had it been me, I think I would have held them and turned them into law enforcement. Stealing is stealing.

people forget to lock, think BM is utopia, have tables with booze out, tools,ect..

One year we were all packed up, burn went great, we crashed and were going to hit the road early. About 5am the RV shook hard. Someone was trying to open the door thinking we were out all night. We ran out but they were gone in a flash.

Maybe that's WHY they keep stealing things... they prefer the aroma!!

TY for the HU about the SBs hitting RVs... Forewarned is dangerous... to them.

(Yeah, come shake *my* trailer. I'll intro you to my friend, Mr. Hickory. Funny how a walking stick just happens to work as a pickaxe handle, too...)

i am looking for a bunk if still available. I have been to BM a few times and learnt that a rv is way preferable to camping. I am coming from South Africa and have to be at a wedding in Vancouver on Labour Day weekend. I was intending on getting onto the playa on the Monday and leaving on the Friday. I am more than happy to contribute to expenses etc and assist in shopping and prepping the weekend before if you are in Reno. I promise I will keep out your hair etc as I have friends who are going who I will be joining for most meals, events etc. Please get back to me if suits.

Question: These people who are ripping RV's off...are they burners?? I mean real burners? Or they people that come in just to see what they can steal and sell on the outside? Or just asshats? I detest thieves.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

well, you may have to define "real" burner.............

thieves, non the less.

Indeed. We are a city of 50,000. Think of any other city that size, and crime is not a surprise. We may have less, but it's going to exist.
I can easily see that someone with bizarre quazi-surrealist ideology might steal as a form of teaching you that all is fleeting and you can never really own anything anyway. Or use that as a justification, anyway. And then tell themselves that there victims aren't real burners because they arrived too late, and brought too much stuff, and never experience the drive-by shooting range.
People are...flexible in more way than you learn in yoga.

Aloha!
Coming from Maui via SF. Second burn, with experience as "playa wife." I can make your trip very smooth, in exchange for a space aboard. I'm a very cool senior, who likes to dance all night, then sleep a bit. Have you got a camp space for the rv?

You can call me 305-984-0069 or send me a message
