I am ONLY close with my cousins. I ended my relationship with my parents when they essentially kicked me out when I was 18. I told them some things they didn't want to hear and they decided I was no longer worthy of them or their considerable amounts of money. They ended their relatinship with my sister a few years later when she came out. She needed them even more because she's in the army and it's certainly hard being gay and in the armed forces...

But I DO love my extended family. Most likely because they are hundreds of miles away the majority of the year.

Sadly, my cousin was not drunk enough to NOT know who I am. Sigh.

Anywho...NEB?? Who's in there. I need some cuddles! And a drink...what shall we have?

I'll snuggle with you VCG. ::snuggles up close::

I'm sorry about your parents. I don't really know what its like to have two parents or even one functional parent but I know that for some those relatinships are very important ones. I wish you, your sister and them will one day all come together with an understanding. But if not, I hope you have found a family in your extended family or amongst your friends.

Why do people have to make it so difficult for each other? Baffles me. As a parent (of 2 teen aged girls and one almost teen aged) and as a former child, I have exactly one piece of advice for raising kids: Make sure your children know every day that you love them. The rest is details.

I think I am quite a bit happier with OUT my parents. My family is the people I choose to love (like you guys) vs. the people I was born to. Thanks for all the snuggles. I will take both drinks (thanks sd and jella...you guys rock).

In addition I shall pour myself some scotch. Yum.

::snuggle::

mmmm, i love the NEB.

I was thinking of VCG's cousin situation and thought of something she could have said. So I made a thread for it, "What I wish I'd said"

Spent the last three days camping with a group of friends. Hiking, pot luck dinners, movies around the campfire, camp crawl, dancing under the stars. Fantastic time. Great prelude to BRC. Two weeks from today!
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
