My tent

It has mesh/screen that I can't close. Must I get a different one or will the top protect me enough?

Bring a blanket or swatch of fabric large enough to cover everything inside your tent while you are away. When you get back, CAREFULLY fold this up, take it out of your tent, and shake the dust into your neighbor's tent.

Maybe get some rip-stop tape and a plastic sheet or something to cover the screen with in case there's a frumious dust storm.

I just spent the evening stitching a layer of fabric over the mesh in our tent. Then a layer of plastic sheeting. It's not going to keep everything out, but should at least help a bit.

And we also plan to cover our beds with a sheet for an extra layer of protection.

Sheet over your bed as mentioned, but you can clip a sheet or blanket over the top of the mesh too.
