My mother will be getting a portacath inserted this week as her lymphoma has come back with a fucking vengeance. She's got a great oncologist though and high spirits to fight back so I'm worried but not freaking out. Still it's something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Fuck Cancer. It continues to attack the ones I love and has taken too many.

One small positive is I won't have to carry the full load of coordinating her care this time around. Being in Colorado means others will have to step up and help...and the more support, the better.

fuck. I finally got my insurance, but being lovely military bureaucracy, it doesn't go into effect until Oct 1st becuase I missed last Friday's deadline for Sept.

The reason I fucking missed it? They couldn't fit me in last week even though I called on Monday and they had told me a few weeks ago I should only need a few days advance notice. (I was waiting for the paperwork from The Wife, who was in transit home from Iraq. She's back, safe, thank fucking G*d)

*blegh* No fucking insurance while I'm at the event, and I still can't go get this three week old burn looked at without paying a fortune (are you supposed to have blisters last 3 fucking weeks?)

oh well, 5 days and counting. I just won't get fucking injured out there. I won't.....

yep, Tricare. They were nice about it, but....fuck. It's not my fault they couldn't fit me in the right week, or that there's only one base I can get to (and even that's almost 2 hours on public fucking transit). The fucking ID office in SF doesn't even return fucking calls, so I had to go to the east bay.

At least the doc I've had the last 10 years is in-network, and my fucking migraine meds will be covered.
