I have a gift drawer and when I come across a gift which is perfect for someone, I get it and save it. Oh, I gift all along the way, but some of us like the ritual of wrapping and then sharing.
My MIL used to send obligatory gifts, stuff I hated off the clearance aisles. (birthstone angels) I had to insult her to get her to stop.

Only one holiday should be able to take over the holidays around it and last for 3 months, Steak and BJ day.Shambala wrote:My biggest WTF moment happend last night (Saturday night).
I went to a large regional mall not far from my house, that I had not been to in probably a year. There was an addition to it that nearly doubled its size and it was FULLY decked out for Christmas. The mall was packed, and most everyone was dressed in their fancy logo clothes and were in full Christmas shopping mode. WTF is going on with our society? Our we as a group that easily led by the nose to spend our hard earned money on useless, disposable shit, just because the mall hung up Christmas decorations?
This is going to be a very bumpy holiday season for me. I know the economy needs the sales, but I don't like seeing people being so sheepish when buying all that crap just because they feel they have to.
WTF!

It's my understanding that Steak and Blow-Job is a very pretty way of saying "Thank you" to a proper Valentine's Day.
Which means, that to have three months of S&BJ, you'd need three of VD as well. And it would get pretty odd between March 14 and May 14, when both are in full swing. I think keeping track of the favors would get a little out of hand.
So, I'm going to put my bid in for Architeuthis Appreciation Day instead. Watery holidays are good holidays.
