Fire walking?

Post by pirotechnics » Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:25 am

Does any one know if there will be a fire walking work shop/camp ?

I have learnt to use various fire toys & fire breathing. I have also jumped through flames but one thing I have never had the chance to try is bare foot fire walking.

In various tribes history the walk of fire has been a rite of passage. I think it would be an impowering experience and the perfect rite of passage for myself and many others into the next stage.

I think it is being hosted by "Bad Idea Camp"....

I don't remember ever seeing anyone doing it, or any camp having the set up for it before. So maybe you should bring the setup out? As long as you follow the burn rules for a happy playa, you shouldn't have much issue. Just always watch it when its active.

If you can't find someone who has done this safely and is capable and willing to teach you, I'd suggest procrastinating.
Or take the training NOW and bring it to the Burn!

So this would be on the playa? I assume the open playa. With decayed granite and placement by the llc. It doesn't seem like their thing, although I don't know them real well...

I saw people doing it last year although I don't know if they set it up or if it was just a burnt art piece. The latter seems like a BAD idea, with all the nails, staples, etc that were probably in it.

Let's see, fire walking at Burning Man. Stoned hippies, drunken louts, and teenagers on shrooms. What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks pal, I'll keep that in mind. We really ought to form a posse and hunt that asswipe down. Bastard busted up near 100 of our Barbies. Filled up half a trash can when I got home.

You oughta make him walk on the burning barbies he mashed.

They say melting barbie is kinda sticky like taffy without the sugary mess...
