Will you be a part of my art project on the Playa this year?

Hi there. I'm doing a multi-part arts project at BM this year, and hope you will participate! Basically, I'll be taking photos of Burners at BM, bringing the images home to my art studio and spending the next year creating a series of paintings from the images. The whole process will be blogged from start to finish, and filmed for a documentary short, and the whole thing will be put together in a book. You can read all about it and see a short vid here: http://kck.st/htFqDA. I hope you'll come be a part of the project by coming by the project photo booth at Whiskey & Dust camp to "get shot"! (I'll post photo booth times as soon as we get our camp placement) "Models" get copies of the photos, and if the image is chosen to become a painting, you 'll get a signed giclee' print. i'd back this project sounds like a perfect way for a birgin to have a unigue memory of the burn.

Your artwork is lovely!

I'm confused about the project though. Is this a non-profit book with proceeds donated somewhere? It appears as if it's not but I thought I would ask!

Has the Borg sanctioned it? It seems to be the type of project I'm not sure they would support but was worth asking.

Hi there. A portions of the book proceeds will be donated, but it is not non-profit. I am a full-time working artist and this book will help support my art. BMorg supports many for-profit art books, just look at Amazon.com. I have received approval for the project from BMorg, and will receive approval for the book itself after it is completed. (they will not give final approval until the book is completed) The book is only a part of this project.

I am not posting here to sell a book, I am posting to let people know they can come be part of a fun fine art project, and get great pics of themselves at BM.

Are you only taking pictures (and supplying the "model" with a picture) for those people you want to paint or is this also going to be a gifting thing to the community? Is your booth open to any who stop by or just the paintable folks?

Not trying to pick on you or anything but getting a photo taken out there and getting a copy of it sounds neat. If it's just a way to make you money then not so much.

I do think your art is beautiful, truly. However, I don't see why people here would want to fund your Burning Man trip (fund your tickets, RV rental, supplies etc) so you can make a living. We all have to fund ourselves to get there, many of us are artists and most all of us have to make a living and still finance ourselves to the playa.

Yes of course anyone can come get their picture taken. This is meant to be a fun interactive experience. All are very welcome. If funding comes through I'll also have bling for all the "models". I'll be spending many many hours not only on the playa but posting all the pics for people when I get home. I'll be picking from all the photos which will get painted, and those people will get a signed giclee', worth about $500 so I am gifting all over the place. This is my third Burn, and I know the drill. I'm covering much of the expenses myself, though like many artists, I need a little help. If you don't want to help that's fine. Oh that's different. Ok, I'll quit being snarky. That rocks. I have a bee up my bum about so many people begging this year so I'm being overly sensitive.

Sadly this art project is at only 56% of its goal on Kickstarter.

A big bang of energy/contributions or several very generous gifts
are needed in next 48 hours or kickstarter won't add funding.

I went to kickstarter but didn't like having to regester an account there.
