Seatraveler first time to BRC

Post by darkfred62 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:45 pm

I'm a first timer. Have wanted to go for past couple of years, but things got in the way, and I got in the way of things (a train, strange story will discuss later).

Basically I work on the ocean. Been to most of the seven seas. The north pole. Antarctica and lots of other strange places. I understand I may be somewhat dated (old ) to most of the people that will be there, but I will still want to see and do!

See you all there! :D

Go to your profile and uncheck the box that says "Disable BBCode" Then these quotes will nestle together nicely.

It was, of course, not kind to use your experience to wink at the audience (other members of the board) when you weren't in on it. Sorry.

Hey DarkFred! Sounds like you've got a lot of good stories in you. Stories and cocktails with the neighbors make the dust storms pass in a very high style. Have you read the first timer's guide? And the Survival Guide linked within? It's the 2010 guide, alas, but it wont change heaps (I hope).

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Have questions? Read this first: http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/
Everybody on eplaya is always excited to help first timers; but in sympathy for some of us old timers, please get your required reading out of the way before posting. As hard as it is to rein in the the excitement and enthusiasm, and as unbelievable as it might seem, most of your questions have already been asked and answered, if you just take a moment to read.

Now, let the adventure begin!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Yes, thank you , read all the guides. I'm traveling down from Alaska first then to BRC. So I have a bit of a trip to do . What's that saying? "Its not the destination, its the journey"

Fantastic. :)

If you turn out to like the event and want to go again, the "it's not the destination, it's the journey" will take on a funny expanded meaning if you choose to geek out here from time to time. Journeying is what the citizens of ePlaya are sorta doing all year. (That, and drinking in the Bar thread.)
