If I'm reading that chart weatherman put up correctly, it looks like the playa got a bit of rain today (10 August 2011). Not too much, just a bit. Well, weather right now-- 5:18PM in Madison, WI is:

Speaking of rain, the storm last year that made those pretty rainbows on Monday measured .05"- 1/20th of an inch!

You sort of can with an HTML desktop gadget. Then point it to that page, or even better set it up on a script to nab images. I'm not sure they want their server hammered that much though.
