in between the dream journals, bad poetry and relentless ranting about Bush, the open mic in center camp was taken by a rather talented beat boxer. during his set a large, plucked, alien-looking chicken man walked up and began to pop & lock while the beat boxer injected "bok bok bok" into his routine. it was the most awesome and spontaneous moment i witnessed this year.

thank you beatbox man and space chicken. you made my burn.

The very same beat boxer did a looping rendition of Portishead's "Wandering Stars". That was one of my majical moments.

The Beatboxer goes by the name "Kid Beyond," just FYI.

He was pretty amazing.

Kid Beyond aka Andrew Chaikin is more than just amazingly talented (and may I say totally hot), he also performs enormous numbers of shows. If you are in the Bay Area you should check him out as he seems to do multiple show every week.

He does a lot of performing for benefits & charities, teaches beatboxing to beginners, and is, by all reports, an extremely nice guy.

Kid Beyond is rad but the beat boxer you were grooving to was none other than Kyrian from Seattle. I was at his show in center camp and he rocks. Just want kudos to go where they are deserved. God bless KYRIAN.
